For permanent marker I've had luck using acetone but due to how close these marks are to the eye I'm not sure if it would be safe to use it.
If you have any ideas for how I can fix this without messing up the eye please reply.
Thanks
You are correct: Acetone can hurt ponies eyes or cutiemarks so you shouldnt use it near them. I sometimes use rubbing alcohol in removing sharpie stains but again: have not tried this on a pony so I dont know how safe it is. I have heard about people mixing it with water to clean ponies but do what you think you should do at your own risk I’m not a pony plastics expert
Maybe something on the Pony Preservation project can help? You could try sunfading but if that doesnt work maybe even just painting it over…. Best of luck whatever you do!
I am not sure if water colour tape is acetone proof or not. It can keep a decent quantity of water colour out of tight area, if you can cut into specific shape.
You might also be able to try something called ethyl acetate, it's a little more gentle than acetone and can often be found in the more "eco-friendly" nail polish removers. No matter what you want to use, maybe try a little corner on the non-display side? Then you can see exactly how bad it might or might not be. Diluting any acetone / rubbing alchohol / etc. with water should make it a little less harsh, just be real gentle and start with a small test
