Cleaning out the basement and found these in a box. My daughters are in their mid twenty's now and I'm trying to get rid of these before they know there gone.

I am glad that I don't have to worry about that! But I feel sorry for those who have had this happen to them in one way or another.

..

I don't know if I'd ever forgive my mom if she did that to me. Thank the lord I also don't have to worry about that. My mom likes mlps. And would never to something like that to my stuff.
Thats horrible that someones mom would do that. I hope nobody bids so her daughter can keep the ponies.

Wow. My mom always had this weird idea that whether or not our toys went was up to us. I mean, there were times when the rule was "clean that up or it goes to the salvation army" or she'd tell us we should donate our toys that we didn't play with, but she'd never do it without us knowing.

The only time she put her foot down was the day we had a yard sale and I was going to sell my ponies. She told me I wasn't allowed to because I'd be sorry if I did.

I forgot to add that it is the dad who is listing it and asked his wife what they were. So I guess it could be both who are listing it. lol

and btw my mom loves mlp as well hehe

This is exactly why my stuff came with me wherever I moved, knowing my dad he would have just pitched it all. That's sad. When my kids leave the house, I will still let them store stuff at my house until they are settled...THEN I will ask them to remove it. If they don't want it anymore then that's a different story.

I still have a ton of stuff at my mom and dad's and I am settled lol

Oh, sad! Hopefully the daughter wasn't that into her ponies...My mom got rid of a lot of toys from my childhood, but only with my permission! She would never get rid of my old My Little Ponies, or my Barbies, or Littlest Pet Shops, or anything else I really loved. It's a good thing she kept all that stuff, too, because now when my daughter goes there to play, she has lots of her mom's old toys to play with :)
Oh, and the only reason I don't have my old toys at MY house is because they're my sister's too-maybe when she gets a house (she's in college right now) my mom will make us divide all that stuff up and take it to our own houses!

O' my thats terrible! I would never speak to my mom again if she did that. My mom was a big yardsaler and most of my childhood toys ended up in the front yard but she never would have dared to sell my pony stuff. I think she knew those toys were precious to me. But I don't have to worry about that now, all my ponies are safe with me. As a matter of fact when I moved out the ponies were the first thing to go, all wrapped in tissue and neatly boxed up :D

I've got a long way before I have to store anything LOL. I will make sure my daughter keeps her ponies. Someday her daughter might want to play with them or she might decide they mean more to her. It's hard to buy back things that you get rid of when you are young.

Thats terrible!

I still regret putting all my old toys up for sale at a yard sale....of coruse, my ponies stayed (safe) but we sold lots of other things I am still trying to buy back!
Like moondreamers, LLL etc etc
but that was because my mother pretty much forced us to downsize our toys. oi

*Twinks*

Though thank God for e-bay...I am able to buy the books I gave away like Nitter Pitter, Morgan and Me, Flutterby...

...

My mom did that to me when I was 12 to get back at me for leaving to go live with my dad. I was devastated, but it upsets me even more now because some of the ones I had are hard to find or expensive. Oh well, at least I know I'll never do that to my girls.

Glory

That's sad. :( I'm glad my mom likes Ponies (even has a few herself, lol), and my step-dad gets into them w/ me. ^-^ Hubby buys them for me and listens 'patiently' to me talk about them. ;) He likes certain ones, lol.

My sis-in-law gave my daughter a ton of those these last few months, they were all brand new too. They must be reprinting them, yay! My daughter's too young, so I had to read them all to her. :)

Yes, they did reprint them...but of course I want the one identical to the one I had when little. They don't usually look new. Still want them cheap though.

My mom did that when I was 14. :) So considerate of her.... we had to move and apparently my childhood memories were not worth the space they would occupy in one more cardboard box.

Wow, that's harsh. I had all of my ponies and childhood toys stolen when we moved. Three boxes full of ponies, and several others of Jem, LLL, MoonDreamers and so on, and to me this just sounds like stealing to!

Also to Christy and Ephany, love the refrence to Serendipity books, I buy them off e-bay as well and love them!

I'm sorry, but that made me giggle! It is exactly what my mum did, but never to my MLPs. Every other toy was given away to other kids or garage sales, but she was always great with my ponies.

I moved out several years ago and she did this huge clean out and I thought she threw out my backcards. But last year I was going through the attic and found them. Mum was quite upset that I thought the worst of her.

It is a good thing that most mums understand our connections to MLPs! :D

That's really cruel and disrespectful. That poor woman's daughters...I really feel for them. My mum's never been like that and I'm so grateful. I'm incredibly possessive of all my stuff and would just FLIP if any of it was got rid of without me being consulted first.

I think anyone who does what this woman's doing is bang out of order. Why doesn't she just ask her daughters if they'd mind her selling it? If they say no then she'd just have to deal with it. What a cow.
