I am just curious to know of other's reactions when you get a lovely pony through the post or wherever! I don't want to be the only over-excited squealing idiot here XDDD

Today I got Pony Bride and 7 Italian g1's!!!!!!!!! (Italian Surprise, Confetti, Trickles, Sparkler, Peachy, Bowtie and Starflower!) I was squealing and jumping around like a little girl on Christmas! I cannot stop smiling and everytime I look at them I get excited all over again! XD

And a few days ago I got G1 Fizzy in the post, and as I opened the box she was gently packaged in, I had no idea which pony it was, and as I opened the bubble wrap I screamed out "FIIIZZZYYYYYYY!!!!! I GOT FIIIIZZZZZZYYYYYYYY! FIIZZZZYYYYY! OH MY GOSH! SHE'S HERE! FIZZY!! SHE'S HERE!!!"
(exact quote I swear XD)

So how do you all react? :D Just as crazy? XD :alien_dance:
 
I'm fairly sane around my house, but I have to REALLY contain myself when out and about and find a treasure!

Inside, however, my reaction is about the same as yours! :)
 
It's funny you mention a little girl at Christmas, because I think that I get far more excited about ponies than I got as a kid. My dad always video-taped us opening presents and I had the same reaction for everything. A very rehearsed "Wow, this is exactly what I wanted/needed!" I was such a ham.

Now, if I find a pony from my wish list it's like ~aaaaaaahhhhhh~ *rainbows shining everywhere* I bought ponies from CrazyPonyLady and Scarlettkitty81 a few weeks back and they arrived on the same day, I was like "ahponiesponiesponiesponies!!!!!!" and was hyper for days.
 
For me, it depends on my mood, I guess. I think I conditioned myself over the years to not get overly excited about anything, which is... Sad, really, now that I think about it. Gotta work to correct that. Hmm... I guess ponies might help me there! :biggrin:

I do get inner bouts of pony joy whenever I get a package in the mail ("YAY she's finally here!!!"), but keep it subdued. Mostly because I have to keep them a secret from my dad, who'd go on rants about wasting money - even though I always keep my pony collecting and my savings in check. :/ Also, for some reason I tend to circle around my wishlist and choose ponies that aren't actually there (I call this "stalling" :lol:), and some of those extras end up growing on me and becoming new faves. :p

Though I remember that I actually almost started crying when I got Galaxy. I had never seen a G1 up close before then, and she was so pretty and colorful and big that I couldn't contain myself. It was like a load of childhood memories I never had just BAM! hit me straight out of nowhere like a truck. I got a similar feeling when I got Paradise and Ivy, since they'd been longtime unobtainable favorites of mine. I think I'll get it again if/when I eventually get Baby Princess Sparkle, or one of the Tales ponies. :biggrin:

Geez, I must sound kinda cold. o_O

How do I react when I get a new pony? I usually jump up and down, squealing while I swing the pony around the room showing everyone and telling everyone her name... You know the usual...
 
i clutch the package tightly, squeal like a pig, rip it open like a kid on christmas, than pull out the pony hug it, than grin like the cheshire cat and giggle like a school girl on her first date for days. lol, i'm such a ditz.

Yea, that's pretty much how I react. I mean seriously, you don't just get a new pony, think, "Oh, I got a new pony. Now how much did I spend for this thing?" and then stick her with the rest of the collection.

No, you scream and get all red in the face and carry her everywhere with you, blissfully ignoring all comments like "You spent how much money on her?!"

Woohoo for ponies. :blah:
 
Depends on where I am and what pony it is.

Rare pony at the flea market? Gotta play it cool in case the seller has others so they won't jack up the price. Plenty of time to squee in the car on the way home.

Ebay? Was it a bidding war or a REALLY good BIN? I try to calm down and slow my heart rate, lol! Then maybe jack it back up with a celebratory Pepsi or something.

Mostly lately I've been half-heartedly bidding on something and then log in later to see I've won it and there's just a moment of, "...Oh. Better pay then. Wonder when this ended?"
 
It depends on where I am- most of my ponies come to me through my office mail so I calmly slip the box under my desk and open it when no one is looking-

I WANT to skip around and make a hulabaloo- but manage to keep it contained until I get home- but I AM skipping and babbling inside!
 
I secretly ger excited, pose and arrainge it with the others in my collection! Then I hide both the pony and my ethusiaism from a judgemental family ><.
 
I get really excited when i find a good deal on ponies, which is the only way i can really buy them. So i get excited with every pony i find! xD
Especially finding them at op shops, it gives me such a high. :D
 
I buy my ponies mostly as grab bag lots, and I never know all of them until I physically can open the bag/box. Usually, theres some squealing and woo hooing! When I got Pretty Palace yesterday, I shouted out loud, but I wasn't sure shed be in there(I was betting it was her on hair color and tush view).I slso got the set of inspirational words ponies, and I thought I'd only gotten six....there was screaming and woohooing for that too.
 
I get most of my ponies through the mail, but I don't open the packages until I have a minute by myself. That way I can open my pony packages in peace and react as loudly and as crazily as I like away from my husband who will usually poke a little bit of fun at me and my reaction :tongue2:
 
With the box in hand, I think of my tendency to kiss ponies, and how I won't know how clean the pony might be. I often also think that people like to tease me a lot, so it might not even be a pony inside, and I don't want to get my hopes up because I don't want my teasers to get a kick out of my reaction.

Then I open the box and find the pony!!!!!!!!!

I unpack the pony carefully, straighten up her mane and tail and swipe off any packing material that might be stuck to her, then I lay her close against my chest and cuddle her like a baby kitten. And then I kiss her at the top of her mane or between the ears or the tip of her nose (eventually all three).

I don't like to make a fool of myself grinning and squealing and jumping up and down in front of my family. So my emotions get so built up that my eyes fill up with tears.

Then I make a fool of myself grinning and squealing and jumping up and down in front of my family, and boy do they think I'm an idiot then! But by that time, I hardly care. I protect my new little pony like she's my little baby, and she's all mine!

I usually just do a quiet little "oooooh". Those that I've only seen in pictures always seem to be even prettier in person. When the G2 castle arrived, though, that elicited a tiny squee and a hand clap. :) Am thinking that finding any G1s in a thrift store/yard sale etc setting would probably include a gasp and irregular heartbeat.

When I get a pony in the mail I get all excited, jump in place, and immediately go fix her hair. Then I show my boyfriend, mom, and tumblr. I'll carry her around in my purse for a day or two until the next one comes. If it was one I really really wanted, I'll have a meltdown and carry her around for weeks. I go to pay for things or put away tips at the hair salon, and I get funny looks from some, or some will tell me their whole childhood story, or their grandchilren's childhood story.

I got questioned in Toys R Us, being a teenager with pink hair buying $60 worth of ponies on a credit card, I kinda turn heads. The cashier asked for my ID, so I dug out my wallet and she spotted my Ringlet. She pointed to it and asked if I had payed for that. I told her I brought her here, and she's a vintage pony, not sold in stores. She seemed to believe me, but found it a little odd I was actually shopping for myself.

At school, I opened my purse and pulled out my cupcake stationary to take notes, and the teacher looked at my bag curiously and said, "I'm sorry, April, but is that...Is that Bubbles?" I got all excited and I said "Yes, it is!" She told me Bubbles was her first pony as a kid and was amazed that someone my age was that into vintage ponies. I told her that I've been an eighties-kid-wannabe since childhood, and I bought them on ebay and lived on dreamvalley afterschool. Too bad she was just a sub, because she was the first teacher to get it!

My boyfriend always finds ponies in my purse when he's digging in there for who knows what! He sometimes recognizes who it is, or just gives me a look like, "oh April, this is why I can't find anything in your wallet"
