How do you display your pony wear?

I'm almost finished with my new pony room, but I can't decide how to display all my pony wear. My MOC stuff is easy, but it's the loose outfits I'm having problems with. I don't want to display them on my ponies because I don't want to cover my girls up while they're on display.

I was thinking about getting some large picture frames, mounting them and putting them on the wall. But that could end up being expensive as I'd probably have to get shadow boxes.

So how do you display our pony wear?

when I had it..I displayed them on bait ponies. I didn't mind covering them, and it looked great!!! Just choose one bait in partic to display them all. Like I used bowtie...lots of those in bait condition.

Well, I have a lot of doubles that I just can't seem to get rid of (mostly because they are so common), so I stick them in ponywear. :) They are 'permanently dressed' ponies and often in lesser condition than their 'nude' twin. So I agree with Whippet: it's a nice way to display those 'boring' ponies. (The only problem with my way of thinking is the room my collection takes up! Dear me. O,o)

Awesome! Thanks ladies :) With all the thought I've put into it, I never ONCE thought about using baits... You guys rock!!

Why, I wear them, of course. "From the Designer Collection..." and "Hearts and Candy" sort of worked their way into my regular rotation. It was all downhill from there.

Someone at the Fair had created paper models to display the outfits.

Wish I had a picture....

A gold star for Spoosh! :partysmiley:

That's exactly what I'm going for too!

The only ponies that won't be properly matched are from the "costume wear" set. (backcard has crumpet in the space suit, Angel in acadamy award, etc) Those are ponies I'd trade or sell before sticking them in ponywear.

I put mine on sundance:biggrins:

Re:

I think that was a great idea sam234uk to put the wear on one specific pony that you usually end up having dozens of.

Personaly I only buy the pony wear MOC cuz' I feel like I'm in way over my head trying to get every tiny teeny detail to all outfits loose :p I would probably just get frustrated trying to put it all together.
So can't help with any tips of my own =/

My goal is to eventually have every piece of pony wear loose and MIP displayed on a pony that looks the same as what is on the backcard. I plan to get some ponies rehaired for this eventually. =)

They're all packed up now so I don't even remember how close I am to my goal. :|

You all have given me great ideas for my childhood ponywear!!! I have it all packed up right now because I don't know what to do with it. But now...........I can't wait to unpack it all!!!!!!! :yay:

I had to crop and enlarge it, but here's sort of what they looked like:

I made a template for adult and baby paper dolls, printed them out on card stock, and then cut and folded them. They worked better than I thought they would although some of the heavier ponywear pieces (like the cowboy hat) made them tip over every once in awhile.

You are a genius Ashlyne!!! That is too cute!!!:biggrins:
