I am new to collecting ponies but I have liked them since I was a kid. I wish I still had my old ones. I do still have a few generation 3s that I kept in the box. My collection has been growing lately since I have been buying off of e-bay and going to yard sales and thrift stores. I have a few from all generations but mostly 1, 3 and 4.

I am curious, what does everyone do with their ponies? Do you keep them on a shelf or in storage? Some of the ponies and accessories I have purchased came packaged so nicely that I don't want to take them out to get ruined. On the other hand, they are better enjoyed on display, than hidden away. I live in a very old, dusty house so I am worried about that. I was going to put them on a shelf, but I am thinking maybe I should put them in something that is more covered. Is it harmful to the ponies at all if they become dusty?

Hi!!!

Welcome. My advice is do what you want to do as far as display. I think everyone has their own preferences. It really is up to you. If I feel I want to keep a pony in box than that's what I do. You could have a loose one and an in box one if you choose, and some people do. Older ponies like G1's and whatnot leave in box if purchased or found that way. Display choices all really a matter of the space you have to work with and the look you are going for. In my opinion that's part of the collecting fun!!!

Thanks! I will keep them in their original packaging but still on display I think. But I am not sure if I want to keep them on the dusty shelf or in an enclosed display case.
