Hi everyone, I'm new to this site and have been getting more serious about collecting ponies after recently identifying some of my own ones. I've been doing some research and found out that one of the first ponies i ever found at a thrift store is the Poppy variant of the Birthflower Ponies. I haven't seen much information about her, only that she's apparently the rarest of the variant Birthflower ponies and only a few pictures on another website called "angelfire" with a list of them, so i thought here might be the best place to ask. I've included a picture of my Poppy, she's in decent condition, one side of her marking is a bit more worn but still identifiable and she has a bit of tail rust. I've never cleaned her. I'm just wondering if anyone here can help me with any more information on her and what she might possibly be worth? I haven't seen one up for sale so don't have much to compare it with. thank you :)

Hello @Jazlovestoskate Welcome to the MLPTP :)

The Alternate Birthflower ponies were issues in Australia/NZ and also in Scandanavian countries. The ones in Australia were on a vertical card and the ones from Scandanavia were on horizontal cards. None of those countries got the original white mail order ones issued in the USA. The ones in Australia were sold in stores and branded as "Toltoys" ( an old toy distributor over here.

I found a few at markets some years back. Far as rarity goes all are equally as difficult to find, though some sell for less than others, ( depending moreso on who is looking for what at the time)

Here is a pic of my set before I sold them

Its hard to tell by your picture but does your lovely Poppy have a mane and tail trim? ( That would effect her value)

Thank you for all the info and picture @Slinky I'm not sure if the mane has been cut but the tail must has been because it's about half the length as the one in the picture! Would you know how much they roughly go for each?

I've been trying to complete the Alternate Birthflower set for about two years now. Now Im only missing March Daffodil and to me she's obviously been the hardest to find (and still is) since I haven't seen her pop up anywhere for sale during these two years. That being said I agree with @Slinky - they're all pretty much equally rare.

As for actual costs they tend to sell for $250-$300 when they're in very nice condition. I've been lucky though and gotten a couple of Ebay for just around $100 (surprised that noone bid higher but greatfull :p)

As Im on the Ipad I cant copy links (yeh Im worthless at using these new hightech gadgetts XD ) but if you go to www.mylittlewiki.org and make a search for the Alternate Birthflowers you'll get lots of pictures and information on them :)

I've just started to turn my eye to these but lordy they're expensive! Desert_Rose I may have noticed the last one you're looking for on ebay today. MIB and SO pricey but if it's a set completer......just FYI
