Hi, I'm Ceramicpony.
I grew up with an older sister who had the original gen of My Little Pony toys, and while I would occasionally include them on adventures with my dinosaurs, monsters, aliens, ect. I never thought much of being into MLP. Fast forward to several years back while in college I went to A-kon and an artist was selling custom ponies and she had a custom Cthulhu Pony which I bought from her and now have on my shelf. A year later the new MLP show came out and being a person who enjoys cartoons, especially any with fantasy elements, I gave it a chance and fell in love with it. At the time I was also doing ceramics and found it as a good inspiration for sculpting and slowly got into doing customs as well.
The best part about being into MLP is now I have a 4 year old niece and a 8 year old nephew who both love the show and it's great to be able to share that with them. We watch the show together sometimes and they watch me work on customs, they even started painting some of their Funko ponies with washable acrylic paint and "customize" stuff as well. Now my niece has an eclectic mix of my sisters original ponies from when she was little and ponies from G4, my nephew even has a couple ponies that are "his" even though he doesn't always claim them depending on who is around, but Trixie, Big Macintosh, and Discord tend to stay in his room more so than his sisters. As for me I'm still a struggling artist, I've been to several pony conventions to sell customs, but unfortunately never have enough stuff finished, but I still have fun!
