Hello everypony. :)

I just registered a couple days ago and thought it was time to introduce myself.

I am a Christian and have written several songs, mostly Gospel. I like many kinds of music, but mostly Bluegrass (My fist song was recorded professionally by a big name Bluegrass artist), Western, 50's & 60's Rock and Celtic.

I have some experience making websites and working with graphics.

I'm a child of the 1980's and was/am into many of the cartoons of that era like He-Man, Thundercats, Silverhawks, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Str Wars Droids, Star Wars Ewoks, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Real Ghostbusters, M.A.S.K., Gobots, Dungeons & Dragons, Care Bears, Smurfs and others. I have collected figures from some of their toy lines. I even, secretly, liked She-Ra, Jem & The Holograms, Sailor Moon, Strawberry Shortcake and My Little Pony. :)

I started watching a few My Little Pony cartoons when they had the human girl Megan come and visit them. At that time I wasn't all that into MLP, but around 2013 I gained more of an interest. I had seen parts of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic on the HUB Network and didn't really get into it until HUB had a marathon of every MLPFIM episode in order. I have been DVRing every episode since. :)

I just recently started collecting the blind bag figurines with wave 12. I had thought about getting a few MLP figures for a couple years and almost bought a blind bag once, but felt funny going down the "little girls" aisle of Walmart's toy department. I pressed on last month and got my first four blind bags! :) At the moment I have 29 sitting in front of my monitor and 11 in their bags (8 unopened) I'd like to trade.

With the release of the first Smurfs movie, I got back into the Smurfs, joined a forum for Smurf collectors and began collecting some of their figurines. I started writing a fanfic with a handicapped Smurf I invented and started drawing Smurfs. I have a website of my Smurf works that I'll gladly give you the URL to if you're interested. When I got into MLPFIM, I began my first MLP drawing, a pony to scale with a Smurf. LOL I hope to finish it and post it before long.

I like Sci-Fi and fantasy and am a big Star Wars fan. Lately I have collected Star Wars: Rebels figures, too.

I like to read books relating to and about some of the things I've mentioned above. I like to watch television and go to movies, and I have a big collection of DVDs.

I hope I haven't run on too long. LOL For more personal information look at the "About You" section of my profile. :)

Hi, welcome & nice to meet :)
*Waves from NZ*
I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do.
The mention of the smurfs bring back memories of the 80's childhood. They were available through the BP petrol stations here in New Zealand. I recently saw them popping up on Trade Me (that's like NZ's equivalent to Ebay) Toying with getting a few for old times sake for the nephew & nieces of course. Aren't the kid a great excuse (& cover) for us to buy the toy form our past ;)

I have about fifty-four PVC Smurf figurines in a case hanging on the wall behind my monitor, about all from Ebay. :) I'm planning on bunching up my Smurfs to clear a place for my ponies! LOL The three Smurf figurines I'm still after (Puppy, Scruple and Smoogle) I can't find for a reasonable price. BTW some Toys-R-Us stores carry a line of remakes of previously made PVC Smurfs individually on cards. A good forum for Smurf collecting is http://bluebuddies.com/

I still have all my Star Wars stuff from my childhood. Sadly I lost about all their accessories. :( When the new toy line came out in 1995, I started collecting again. This time I didn't even open the figures! LOL I soon realized there were too many to get them all, so I started focusing my collection on figures and books from Tatooine. :) I even had a website all about Tatooine, which I never finished overhauling and putting back online. ;)

I am having the same issues @BronyTroy with my Ponies, there is no more room on my dresser. It's looking more & more like I need to build my self a new set of shelves to house my herd. It's been suggested that maybe a whole bunch of little stables would be better. I think my family would have me committed;)

I haven't seen any of the remake Smurfs out in any of the shops here, the nearest Toys R Us was in Christchurch but that was before the quakes. I guess it's still there

I hate to say it but Azrael then pirate Smurfette would be my first to buy of the new releases :)

A belated welcome to the board! I still have a few battered old SW figs from my childhood, as well as my transformers (some in need of energon and repairs). I keep the best in a He-Man lunchbox. One day maybe they'll forgive me.

I hear that! ;) My old stuff is lacking tlc, too. LOL Most of my collections are boxed up in our basement or in our old AeroStar van!

Oh, and thanks for the belated welcome! :)

Hi, I am a Christian also. My dh loves Star Wars, Gi Joe, Minions, Captain America, Godzilla, robots and Transformers. We both love Hot Wheels. I like micro transformers and micro machines and playsets. I have some original Ghost Busters figures. You can see my dh picture in Star Wars armor on that thread about dress up in the friends section. Here and scroll up:

We love costuming. I am glad you found the forum. I know you will love it. There are so many nice people here and a lot of fun activities pop up from time to time.

Mlp has been a part of my collecting bug for years. The sad thing is that between me and dh and our toys...well there is no room left in the house lol. Do you watch Svengoolie? Its a favorite of ours because the movies are so dumb they make us laugh. Years ago when I was a kid, I had a friend that loved to draw Smurfs also.

Um, what's a dh? I like the costumes, especially the Stormtrooper. :) Was the Captain America helmet a repainted Clone Trooper's?

I am glad I stumbled across the MLPTP. I feel it's a good place to meet other MLP fans.

I hear you about all the toys and running out of room. LOL I have several of my latest Star Wars figures hanging on the walls in my room and in bags. ;)

Yes, I have watched Svengoolie. :) When I was a kid I loved old monster movies. My favorite is Creature from the Black Lagoon. In fact I recently got a DVD set of Universal Monster Movies that has the Creature in 3-D. Awesome.

Oh, here's a link to my Smurfs website with my artwork: http://mybluehaven.bluebuddies.com/ :)

Welcome, what a great intro post! It is funny that you said you secretly liked various 'girl' toons in the 80's. I was born in the late 70's and grew up in the 80's and I am still totally into the cartoons, music and culture from the time. We do not have cable (I think it is rubbish), so when my kids do watch TV they usually pick from my 80's cartoon collection. Since my son has been old enough to talk he has been into Care Bears and Transformers. Now that he has a little sister he really enjoys MLP, Jem and She-Ra. My FIL tries to poke fun that he likes 'girl' things, but I think that is terrible. I think boys and girls should be allowed to play with whatever they want. I would rather my kiddos be playing with toys and using their imaginations than worrying about whether the toy is a boy or girl toy. So silly! Welcome to the TP. I think you will find this is a very good community. I have been a member here since my late teens and I will be 37 this November *gasp*

Oh and I identify as Christian, but I do not resemble many Christians I know. I think I am more of a spiritual person than a religious one. We do not attend church regularly (I just have not found a good fit), but I do believe in God and I teach my children about him. I just do not like all of the horrible things that are done in his name.

Thanks, Icey! :)

I, too, have a bunch of 80's DVD sets: Thundercats, Silverhawks, He-Man, She-Ra, Smurfs, Care Bears. In fact whenever I got to feeling down as a kid, I'd watch The Care Bears Movie from a VHS recording I did from TV. :) That always made me feel better. Oh, I recently bought several Smurfs seasons from Amazon downloads. Big mistake... I planned to download to DVD so I could watch then on TV. Well, you can only watch them streemed from the Amazon player now. Or I can watch them offline only on the computer I downloaded to. I'll never do that again. Beware!

38? LOL That's nothing. I'll be 41 in August! ;)

We go to a little country church Sunday evenings, weather permitting. It's called a Baptist church, but it's really non-denominational. My folks help with the music (mom plays upright bass and dad can play about anything, lol.) I don't mean to be preachy and I'm far from being perfect, but I feel having "religion" isn't always a good thing. Man gets in the way, over complicates things and you can get all wrapped up in procedures and lose sight of what's important. Our Pastor always says some people need to lose their religion and just get Jesus!

Ha, I love that! Lose your religion and just get Jesus. I am totally going to steal that line. Yeah my Mom (we do not really have a relationship) got into that Left Behind movement and is all doom and gloom and end days. She once told me that my children would be raptured with her and my hubby and I would be left on Earth because we do not have a church. Some of the worst people I know attend church every Sunday. I think it is what is in your heart that counts.

I, personally, don't feel going to church is absolutely necessary. A person cannot always make it to church, and you can be unsaved and regularly attend church. What saves you is believing in, accepting and trying to follow Jesus. It's ultimately between you and God. *nods*
