Hi everyone! I'm Scarlet Corvid, a lifelong My Little Pony enthusiast!

My first pony was Peachy, a gift (along with the Pretty Parlor, of course) from my Nana for Christmas 1984. I was two going on three then, so I can honestly say I don't remember a time in my life when I didn't have ponies. Over the 80's I collected quite the herd, and it's my current goal to get all of my childhood ponies back. After the teenage "I'm too cool for this" phase came and went, I found myself collecting again when G3 came out in 2003. And my first pony was...Peachy! Since then, I've had ponies proudly displayed in my home and have collected on and off. Now I'm ready to jump back into the collector's world.

Along with ponies, I'm a horse lover. I've ridden for 17 years, and I look forward to picking it back up this January after some time off to deal with Covid and a cross-country move. In our book nook, the ponies are joined by Breyers and Fashion Star Fillies. My other hobbies include reading, cross-stitching, and gaming. I'm married, and we have three kitties who keep our apartment full of love, cat hair, and singing the song of their people at 3am.

It's nice to meet everyone! :)

Nice to meet you! It’s too bad that you don’t have your original ponys anymore but I’m sure you’ll be able to find a bunch of them again on here :D ooh I’ve always wanted to go horseback riding, it looks like so much fun, exciting that you’ll be able to get back to it

Hi and welcome to the mlptp!

Hey there!

Welcome in and I hope you enjoy your stay!

Welcome pony friend! Can't wait to get to know you better.

Hi ScarCrow, and welcome! You and I are close to the same age! I'm recently back after a long time away from the pony community, but ponies have been in my life since I was little too. So have Breyers! What kind do you like to collect?
How cool that you get to ride! That's like a once in a decade occurrence for me, haha. What sorts of beasties do you ride?
"Song of their people" heheheee :happyhearts:

Welcome to our herd! I grew up with G1 too and really can't recall a time ponies weren't in my life either. Look forward to seeing ya around :)

Thanks for the wonderful welcome everyone! Sorry for my delay in replying, ended up with Covid and it's been a bit of a drag lately. Today is the first day I'm starting to feel like an actual human again.

As far as MLP, I love G1 and G3. After we move into a bigger place in a year or two my dream is to have all of the American-release G1s! For Breyers, I definitely have a weakness for the classic molds that were popular in the early 90's, plus draft horses, Paints/pintos, Appaloosas, and Arabians. Plus I love the portrait models of horses I've watched perform or race on TV or YouTube.

Most of my horse back riding experience is in Hunter/Jumpers, but shortly before we moved from Michigan to Las Vegas I had started Dressage lessons and had already done my first test in Introductory A, which earned me a fourth place! I'm looking forward to getting back into H/J, and also continuing to learn more about Dressage.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Looking forward to talking to everyone on the forum! :)

SC (Still working on the nickname, haha)

Oh I'm sorry you've been sick! :( I hope the rest mends quickly!

That's a good goal! I have managed to collect most of the American-store-release sets that I like, but there are still a fair number of mail orders and uncommons I'm missing. Fortunately for my wallet and my shelves, I'm pretty comfortable not collecting the sets that had lots of gimmicks late in the game, like pockets, secret surprise, talkers, etc. Even sweetheart sisters are a bit outside my target range. I figure I'll stick to the ones I appreciate the most so I'm not saddled with too much stuff that I collected just to say I have it, if that makes sense!

A lot of those older molds are still lovely, even with all the impressive new ones they put out each year. They keep getting more detailed! By Classic do you mean the size range or the age range, or both? I looove drafters, and bays, nice dapple greys, and Arabians too. Kathleen Moody used to be my fave sculptor for her expressive faces and ears, but I've become a huge fan of Brigitte Eberl's molds, she's amazing at anatomy!

Do you own a horse or ride someone else's? That's so cool!
