the ponies. I still love them, but my husband thinks I am stupid for collecting them, so I am going to sell off all except my favorites. I am offering them as a bulk lot for best offer. It includes all of the ponies listed in photobucket (look for my post about questions about pricing), plus the majority of my G! ponies. I will get a picture together tonight and post it. I want these gone ASAP!. Paypal only, buyer to pay exact shipping, no handling charge.

I'm sorry that your husband thinks you are "stupid" for collecting them. I'm happy to hear that you are going to keep at least some of your herd. I truly hope that it is your decision to get rid of them, and not letting your husband's opinion push you into something you don't really want to do.

I'm sorry to hear this hun... I agree with josiekat... hope is your decision!

Maybe he has things that you think are 'stupid'?! Don't let him pressure you if you don't want to sell. And if you truly do want to sell then thats okay and good luck with it :)

What's funny is he used to LIKE my ponies.. All I get from him now is grief.

You know

My husband hapred on me about collecting FSF, then MLP, but when I discovered he liked John Deere crap, which I don't, and let him start picking up pieces when "we went out" he thought it was fun. SO, now when I go looking for MLP I make it point to not come home without at least one John Deere thing too. *even I picked it out at walmart shush*

That's odd....it also sends up some red flags. Are the ponies REALLY the problem, or is it something else and are the ponies just an excuse?

sounds like my dad giving my mom crap about going to bingo, you know what your not hurting anyone your husband doesn't have to like everything about you, but I don't think you should put yourself aside for him.

the funny thing about my collecting of ponies is that I don't love them, I like them but when I get them I have no desire to keep them really it's just the thrill of finding one fixing it up and telling you guys about it, he he he I guess it's sort of liking the attention. It's a bizare thing but it keeps me from getting bored, lol.

Hmm....he used to like them, huh. I wonder if some of his friends saw them and started teasing him about them...therefore making him uncomfortable about liking them. My fiancee has a friend who teased him about living in a doll house when they saw my collection. He told his friend that they make me happy and he doesn't have to come back to our place if he wanted to keep it up. :) Made me happy. I too think that there is something else bothering him that isn't the ponies, but it makes it easier to make them the issue. Is he otherwise controlling?

Don't give up your ponies if you want them. You will regret it later!!!! If they make you happy then what is the harm? I wouldn't sell one pony if this decision is not what you want to make.

re

Are they taking over the house? Are you spending Bill money on Ponies? If so maybe he has a reason to be sick of them.

My husband likes me to keep them contained... I think he should be able to compromise something with you.

Good luck!

That is so sad. If you truly don't want to get rid of your ponies, maybe you could just put them away somewhere for storage in a bin or something just to have them out of the way for say a month or so to kind of clear the air of ponies.

You definately should not sell them if you love them, and think that you will want them again some day. Don't do anything you will regret. Please.

*Lots of Hugs*

Thank you all for your support. We talked the other day, and he said he just doesn't understand my love for the ponies. He said that I should keep them if they make me happy, however, I have no where to display them, and do have quite a few that I really don't absolutely love. So what I am going to do is sell the ones that I don't absolutly love, and then come up with a way to display those I do. It seems to be a good compromise for us.

Thanks for the update.

First and foremost a collection should be enjoyed and not the cause of stress and grief. But, you should also be free to enjoy a hobby so long as it's not infringing on others comforts (like someone said, having them spill into another person's living area or spending the bill money on ponies would be some examples. lol)

Every time I've done a purge of the parts of my collection I didn't find fulfilling, I had felt so much better after. and you do enjoy them and respect them more when they have a proper "home", and you're down to the ones you really enjoy.

Try places like Ikea, they seem to have a good selection of cabinets and shelving in a affordable price range. :) Best of luck.
