I've seen the term "G4.5" circulating after the style reboot... is this pretty widely accepted? I guess I kind of missed the whole transition there, but it doesn't feel the reboot is a drastic enough change to constitute a sub-generation. I have no idea. What are your opinions on it?

I use the term G4.5 because it has the factors of G3.5 :) The style of the mold changed but the characters are the same. The previous style isn't being made either, unlike G1 SHS and such (though they are still being sold in the stores I've seen cause yay Hasbro). That's the factor that makes it separate from G4 for me, since the line has moved on and it's notably different, and it uses the same characters which doesn't make it G5. The same things with G3 and G3.5 are happening here.

The three main terms I see are G4.5, reboot and movie, and I would say that G4.5 is the most accepted? From what I've seen though, so I'm not sure.

Well I like to call them my little pony the movie
And my little pony friendship school Sears

I started calling them 4.5 as oon as I saw them because I could see they were transitioning away from 4. At first I wasn't thrilled, but they're okay. New releases are non-existent out my way though, so it's not like I'm seeing much of them. It's like Hasbro is putting them on a back burner, which scares me.

I concur with safflower, skybreeze, and foofoo.
