Jon Snow & Ghost custom ponies

Hand-crafted custom pony figures of Jon Snow and his wolf companion Ghost as seen in Game of Thrones.
Jon’s pony base is a custom engineered pose from 2 different generation 3 ponies- body of a walking pose, head of a core 7 clone pose. Pony canvas has a base coat of Gesso to give a texture for the acrylic paints to adhere to.
Full body repaint job in antique white acrylics, eyes hand-painted in my realism style all paint work sealed in Artists Varnish.
Mane and tail are re-rooted in RetrodollUS’s curly black hair, and some curly brown hair I purchased from a local craft store.
Outfit- I constructed Jon’s outfit from a wide range of varied black textiles.
Started with the pants- hand-stitched from faded black cotton material.
Boots- Started with the soles, pinned thick black authentic leather into the pony’s soles. Stitched some inverted faux vinyl for the boots, with some black hemp cord and silk ribbon wrapped around for detailing. A strip of black bias tape wrapped across the fronts, some black fringed leather fastened to the backs.
Hand-stitched his gloves from the same inverted faux black vinyl, turned the thick black authentic leather inside out with the suede side exposed for his sleeves.
Used the shiny side of the black faux vinyl for the neck collar, stitched black maxi piping along the hem. Used the dull side of some faded faux black leather for his chest vest, made some straps/buckles from a strip of faux black vinyl cut in 3 pieces and the buckles shaped with pliers. Another lone strap across the collar piece crafted from black bias tape with a black buckle shaped from black wire via pliers. Cut 2 strips of faux black leather for the cross straps. Cut 2 more pieces of the faded dull faux black leather for the lower vest, lined the hem with black hemp cord.
Flaps on flank- Wide black bias tape hemmed with black maxi piping, with individually cut and stitched thin pieces of black maxi piping that looks like pleats.
Cloak- took some natural-colored mohair, and dyed it with liquid black Rit Dye mixed with deep brown powder Rit Dye, simmered for a half hour.
Cut the main cloak piece the thick black authentic leather, took a leather hole punch and punched holes to stitch the dyed mohair through. Put a careful layer of Tacky Glue along the edge where the mohair meets the leather to secure it.
Sword- cut out the shape on wax paper, pinned the pattern to thick black authentic leather, cut out 2 pieces, glued them together. Traced out the pattern on transparent plastic of pony packaged, cut out 2 pieces glued it on the outsides of the leather blades. Traced the patter onto silver vinyl, glued it on the outsides of the transparent plastic so this is a 6-layered sword. Hilt is a circular wooden dowel, cut off the head of a tiny Ponyville g3 pony to mount on the dowel for the wolf head.
Cut a few more silver leather strips to secure the hilt, then wrapped some thick silver wire around it to make it sturdy. Cut out a jagged pattern from white authentic leather, painted it in acrylics, and layered it around the pony’s head to give it a wolf mane texture. Cut tiny pieces of leather for the wolf fangs/teeth, rhinestones for the gem eyes to finish.
Ghost- pony base is a baby sized fakie. Base coat of Gesso for the paint to stick to, built up the paint pigments starting with metallic sterling silver acrylics, country tan, grays, creams then white. Face hand-painted in realism textures, all paint sealed in Artists Varnish. Tail is hand-stitched from white faux fur, then stitched directly into the tail hole and rubber of the pony. Mane is same faux fur glued on in several individually cut layers.
