Baby Joyful Jade is for sale through ebay, you can find her link in the auctions forum or on my website. She is the baby version of my favorite G3 pegasus so far Joyful Jade. She was made from the green Baby G3 pony rehaired with restoredoll's Evergreen hair. The wings were made of Apoxie Clay over a wire frame that goes into the body for stability. The eyes and wings were then painted with acrylics and sealed. The tiara is removeable and made from beading wire, seed beads and swarovski crystals.

If pictures show up small hold your mouse over lower right corner of the image, a small box w/ arrows on it appears, click it to expand to full size.

For comparison, here is the adult version:

YAY GREEN! My favorite color! I love how you combined all the different shades of green into one gorgeous palette. I also love how you did her eyes, they have an exotic look that matches well with her name and over-all feel. As always fantastic job! :D

All of your customs are very pretty, and skillfully made, but I'm going to have to offer some constructive criticism. It seems like you're stuck in a rut creatively or something, because color differences aside, a lot of what you're turning out looks pretty much the same - a pony with pretty wings, a good reroot job, and no symbol. They're stunning the first few times around, but once you've seen a few you've pretty much seen them all. How about a little variety?

hm

Ok...

I'm sorry, but I have to say that nearly all of the customs I have made lately are for private commissions. I make what people want me to make. Also, I enjoy making simplistic beautiful customs. It is just not possible to come up with new wild and crazy ideas every month. I feel that I have come up with many many great customs that have a wide variety of techniques and looks, I don't feel that I'm in a rut at all. :? The pony in this thread was a baby version of one of my favorite customs I've made...I wanted her to have a baby so I made it. I don't see that as being in a rut, I see it as making something that really pleased me. I really just found your comments very hurtful. Please look at all of my latest ponies on my site, you'll see that I've had ponies with 3D symbols, with corsets, with symbols, etc. all very recently.

**EDIT** I just ran a talley as an example (yes, the comment bothered me THAT much, now I'm obsessing I know). In the last month I've finished up 10 customs. 6 of those were private commissions of varying design. 4 were baby pegasus ponies that were put on ebay for sale. 3 of those 4 did not have a symbol. So, according to my numbers only 3 out of 10 customs I've made recently were "a pony with pretty wings, a good reroot job, and no symbol." In the meantime, I am currently working on 8 more private commissions, varying from ponies that have painted on symbols, merry go round saddles, 3D symbols, and corsets. I have plans up to my ears for other customs of my own design that don't fit the "pretty much the same" category. It's simply a matter of trying to find the time to do so.

Woosie, I think you're customs are beautiful, and it wouldn't matter if you made 100 of these, I'd still love them all. I love their simplicity - they don't need symbols, they are gorgeous as they are.

Woosie, you didn't ask for a critique, nor do I wish to give one. They're beautiful ponies.

(And for the record- if that pony is the only kind you EVER made, that doesn't make them less beautiful. Please don't listen to the critism of others. We ALL know you're a bang-up customiser!)

I'm wasn't including commissioned customs in my critique, because even though you are bringing them to life those are still someone else's ideas. Nor was I speaking about your body of work as a whole, I was commenting on a recent trend. Out of the four non-comissioned ponies, three of them were exactly as I described. That's a definate majority. I wish you weren't being so sensitive about the subject... you're an artist at what you do but I just don't feel like you're pushing yourself creatively. Sure, I can look at a pony and recognise your technique, but I don't see any WOOSIE in them. I really like seeing the really creative stuff; the stuff I can show to my non-collector friends and say "Now this is a piece of art." With these ponies, and to some extent the corsets, it just feels like they were made to go on eBay.

ugh

You don't see any "WOOSIE" in my customs? I work HARD on every custom I make. I ADORE every custom I make. That comment makes me feel even worse. This is absolutely crushing to me. Not pushing myself creatively? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=47228&item=290003669567 This was finished a month ago, I think it's one of my best ever. Also, as for the comment:
It seems more like these ponies were made to go on eBay.
Yes! They were made specifically for eBay. I need to make money to pay bills, customizing is my BUSINESS. I absolutely love my work and take pride in everything I do, but it's a fact, a MAJOR factor in my making customs is to make money so I can buy food, pay bills and go to college. That does not mean that any of the customs I sell on eBay are made inferior or take less thought and planning then customs that are not meant for eBay. The insinuation that I'm just slapping out customs with no thought or effort REALLY hurts.

Lastly, why are you even giving "constructive criticism" when no critiques were being asked for? There wasn't even really a critique to your comments...it was just telling me that I'm basically getting boring. There was nothing constructive in the original comment at all that I could find.

So why do you post pictures, if you can't take criticism? Not every post can be "OMG WOOSIE ITS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!1 KEEP 'EM COMING!" and you shouldn't EXPECT that. I don't want to start a flame war. None of my words have been intended to hurt you - in fact, I had chosen them with great care specifically not to do so - but you seem to be blowing it up far beyond its significance. You have no reason to be so insecure about your work that you immidately go on the extreme defensive the ONE TIME someone says something negative. If you can't deal with an honest opinion offered in good will about your work, what does that say?

"Constructive criticism is the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one."

omgmypony, she hasn't asked for crit. Not once.

In your train of thought, it would be perfectly alright for me to complain about your avatar. You didn't ask, but you put it where people can see it.

bleh

**shakes head** this is ridiculous. I am in no way, shape or form insecure about my work. The only reason I am defensive is you're insulting something that is very close to my heart.

I don't expect people to all fawn over my customs, I don't ask for it. If I don't get ANY comments on a custom I post pictures of, I'm fine. I just enjoy sharing my work with others, that is why I post the pictures.

The thing is I don't see the point of just popping up and telling someone that their work is boring and without soul. If you had said something like "woosie, your paint is a little streaky, maybe work on that?" or "woosie, the eyepaint is globby, here is a good way to fix that." I would have greeted it with OPEN ARMS. To just come out and tell me that my work bores you, is NOT constructive criticism.

I don't see you slipping at all as an Artist woosie and your customs are beautiful! You really are doing a wonderful job and I love how detailed your wings are. Keep up the awesome work and when I get some more money I plan on commissioning you if you have an opening :) omgmypony you are being awfully offensive in your posts and I can see why it is upsetting woosie. IF she asked for CC then I can see you posting but as she didn't you should keep those sorts of comments to yourself out of respect for the artist.

omgmypony, woosie has a niche. no one can do sculpted customs like she can. she has 2 trademarks - pegs with beautifully sculpted wings, and corset ponies. the reason a majority of her non-commissioned ponies are of those designs is because THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE LIKE. people WANT her to make more customs like this, people pay big money for woosie's customs on ebay, because they're GORGEOUS. it doesn't matter how many she does, because each one is still unique and adored by the public. i only WISH i could afford one of the customs you so readily scorn.

Wow ---
First of all, Woosie does amazing customs and all have their own unique personality. Just because they have no symbol does not make them the same type of pony.
Each pony speaks different emotions and different tones, even in this supposedly simplistic style that is being "critiqued" (criticized) there is nuance of feeling and emotion. Every color speaks about the pony, and there is interpretation rather than "I have a ball on my butt, that must mean I am a pony with the word ball in my name" (Not at all bashing symbols, or symbol artists, just noting that there is plenty of personality without a symbol and that personality comes, NOT form the symbol but from the ARTIST.
I think it would be really IMPOSSIBLE to look at something Woosie did and see no Woosie in it. Plus, did you see Wistful Winter? This is not an artist who is lacking in creativity. Holy crap, that pony was STUNNING, and I have never seen a custom go so high. I bid an entire week's paycheck trying to win her, and still failed.

Last but not least, even if these other comments were not easily refuted -- even if Woosie were doing the same thing over and over -- she does it better than anyone else. Yes she should get an "OMG WOOSIE ITS SO BEAUTIFUL" because IT IS!!
And, it is not necessarily a sign that Woosie is too insecure about her work simply because she puts heart and soul into it.

Woosie, your customs are wonderful. Please don't allow these comments to affect you or your output. The community loves your customs, why else would you always be so backed up with commissions? Why when you opened them up a few weeks ago for instant pay, but not instant pony was everyone jumping all over that and begging for a slot? Why else could you demand 3x's (and up) what most customizers get for their ponies?

darklys says it best. I love Woosie's customs and wish I could afford one. Yes, the pegasus and corset ponies are her "signature" styles, but I enjoy seeing each and every new one that she creates, as each and every one is beautifully unique and creative.

There's a simple solution to this. If you think Woosie's customs are boring (which I just can't see how), then don't look at them anymore. She's still going to have plenty of us looking at, admiring, and wishing we could afford them. That's what I do. If there is someone's art posted that I don't particularly like, I just don't look at or comment on it.

Darklys has said it best.

Woosie's definitely not slapping these things together...I wish I had the time, patience, and mind to be able to do customs and do sculpting like that. I happen to like her niche and what she does, for even though she has a lot of corsetted and winged ponies, they're all different. I don't see how she's in a rut. If I were to commission Woosie, of all the ponies I could think of having her make, I would have her do me a nirvana pony wearing a corset, because I like that style a LOT. If people didn't like her style, then Woosie might move on to something else, you know? But since everybody loves it and there's rarely any flaw in her customs, why change it?

Please respect someone when they don't actively want crit. Woosie is NOT the one blowing this out of proportion, not at all. And how on earth is she insecure?

Didn't you see the custom she made for me? That is the most original custom i have ever seen! Maybe you're just bitter becuause you don't have her talent.

re

Wow, I firstly can't believe ANYONE would even think to critic a Woosie custom, because let's face it---she is absolutely by far one of the best customizers in this community. :?

Secondly, I am extremely shocked and appalled by the manner in which you chose to critic her customs in the first place, let alone the manner in which you've responded to her reaction (which I can not say I blame her one bit). :x

Thirdly, this post was not started because she felt she needed anyone's criticism--let alone yours. She was posting another one of her amazing masterpieces so that we can all share in her wonderful abilities that some of us only wish we had a quarter of. Thus your post is unwarranted and undeserved spamming in all reality. :|

Fourthly, you should take a step back and think about how you choose to word your posts of criticism to anyone because you suck badly at it.

Filthy and lastly this one is directed to Woosie: Do not listen to this person, you have a gift that so many of us only can wish to have...do not let someone who is obviously disdainful of your achievements make you second guess yourself or question your artistic wonders because everyone else on this board with a brain and enough money has told and shown you you're work is worth so much.

I, for one, really enjoy seeing EACH and EVERY ONE of Woosie's beautiful customs. And I will also point out again that her eBay auctions are put together SO magnificently and professionally. I think she's an absolute STAR at what she does and she deserves what she makes on eBay.

BTW...Perhaps this is one of those moments of PMS that we were referring to on that other post? It's okay. I was a total b!t@h my last monthly visit and I think I hurt some of my friends IRL. But I kept my feelings off the boards. Maybe that's the problem. ;)

You know what, ohmypony? I've had the same thought before and complained to a friend. She rightfully smacked me down for it, basically telling me that the reason Woosie keeps making corset ponies (my complaint at the time) is because people love them and they sell! Talking to her further, I realized what my real problem was-it's that I'm jealous. Woosie does beautiful work and rightfully sells it for a lot of money. I suspect you're the same way I was, hiding jealousy behind complaining about nothing.

So grow up and move on. It's not for you to dictate what Woosie does and doesn't create unless you're paying her for a commission (and if I were her, I doubt I'd ever accept one from you).
