G1 prototypes or fakies??

Hi, I’ve collected G1 ponies for 35 years. Yesterday, I found the attached ponies in a shop in Liverpool (UK) that gets its stock from old clearances, auctions, random places like that. They look like genuine ponies in every way, except they do not have the Hasbro stamp on the foot or the year of the mould. The eyes, cheek blush/freckles, tails, etc. are all spot on. The ribbons are the same. They are packaged simply in transparent plastic bags with no brand name, similar to the way the mail order ponies were received. The green pony with the chillies as his rump mark even has a hat using the same mould as Tex’s cowboy hat from 1986/7.

I’m an experienced second hand pony buyer/seller and my collection is at least 400 different ones so I know how to identify fakies. Are these old prototypes or fakes? I can’t find anything on the internet about them.

There are more ponies that lead me to believe that they are prototypes. I have black with pink hair (in sitting down Bubbles pose), black with blue hair, neither with a rump mark. I also have ones without a mane and tail, similar to some other prototypes I’ve seen online.

Some of the pictures were too large to upload but I’ve managed to put a few.

Please help?

Oh! Those are HQG1Cs! They are customs made by a fan project a few years ago, they were made to bring nostalgia to pony fans! Lucky that you found those in the wild!

Thanks all. I’ve just found some on eBay, I was missing the magic word HQG1C. I did google and search the internet before, just couldn’t find anything. I wonder why they released the blank ones with no mane or tail (and no holes for them). I also wonder how they made into the discount store in the UK for £1 each.

I’ve found some on eBay but not ecrater. I’m not familiar with that website but I tried a few searches and cane up with nothing.

The blanks were made for customizers.

I pulled this straight from the HQG1C-Collectors Club Facebook group for anyone interested. If you are on Facebook, you can search and join it to get all the info.

Thanks. Nice and cheap to so can make a profit on the spares I bought! I can’t beleve they were only £1 each in the shop and they are going for £25.90 on the official European website or $25-30 on eBay. This shop has always has some great finds going back to the 80s with lots of cheap real MLPs & Star Wars figures. I asked them where they get their stock from and they couldn’t remember where they got the customs from exactly but they generally get their stock from closing down down sales, real-life auctions, etc.

This is a large box that went missing to my UK distributor back in september for the UK ponycon. IF you can please buy all that are there I would appreciate it so you can resell them to the UK pony members.

How many were there? I bet @Clipper would be interested in figuring out how they got there.

I believe there should be about 200 ponies there. 25 of each art girl. 3 - Genie's-, peppet jacks, Dashers, some blank ponies, babies. I have photos of everything from that box. I will upload it shortly

Now how on earth did they get THERE? How weird! :surprisepony:

@Baby Licorice, I suggest you take photos of whatever ponies you are able to acquire, and start a thread in the Wanted to Sell subforum here http://mlptp.net/index.php?forums/wanted-to-sell.15/ along with your prices for each pony, to help keep your potential sales organized. :) Searching Ebay (or just asking @Clipper himself) should give you a good idea of what you might be able to ask for them. Feel free to PM any moderator if you need any assistance. :)

I've been eyeing Pepperjack and Dasher since they came out, I'm jealous of the find! If I was in the UK I'd totally buy them off of you.
