As people know, after gazing at all these works of art, I have been inspired to have a serious shot at my own customs, instead of the minimal messing around I had been doing. In my Little Book Of Big Ideas, I have come up with the following sets so far:
Storm Fury Flutter Ponies (I'll be keeping these for my own pleasure)
Night Guardian Unicorns (again, I'll be keeping)
Fortune Teller Ponies (again, keeping)
Sky Searcher Ponies (astronomer ponies so of course they'll stay with me)
Arctic Fun Ponies (winter inspired set, depending on if they come out OK, would be open to selling them)
Garden Glow Flutter Ponies (would be open to selling if they come out OK)
Additional Rainbow Ponies (would be open to selling)
Fire Lighter Ponies (fireworks and celebration inspired ponies, would be open to selling)
Fairy Folk Friends (inspired by the Little People, would be open to selling)
Wildwood Keepers (tree/plant inspired, I had dryads in mind, would be open to selling)
Seamstress Secret Ponies (tailors and robemakers to Majesty and the Princess Ponies, they also love making costumes for other ponies. Anyone interested?)
I come up with lore for each set, and if I were to sell, I would include the lore on a piece of parchment wax sealed. Do people prefer to go for sets, or single ponies? I think I would like each set to go together, but at this stage I am not completely sure.
Given my planned buys for my collection this coming month, I shall start buying materials for SERIOUS customising (rather than take remnants of cutie marks off with nail varnish remover to draw my own designs on using gel pens, and then sealing with clear nail varnish) at the end of July, to have finished my first few batches by end of August.
For people who sell their customs, what do you take into account when you decide to create your pieces of art and when you decide to sell? And for possible buyers, what do you look for in a custom when interested in buying?
