So for my Steampunk Merpony I knew that I wanted her tail to resembled Flamed Copper. It's exactly what it sounds like, copper sheeting that the artist scours with a wire brush then uses a hand torch to bring out the desired colors. You see it a lot in garden art I think.

To figure out if I could replicate the technique with paint and plastic ponehs I grabbed a bait and started going. I liked her enough to sculpt hair for her, trying to keep it metallic-like. Then it hit me that it might be cool to do known ponies like this (I might have to make myself a Flamed Toola Roola). I started with Rainbow Dash, well, just cause. I had to simultaneously use 9 or 10 paint colors at any given inch on this gal lol.
