I've recently got in the mail a half done custom from another pony fan. She is in baity condition with highlighter marks on her body, scratched eyes and her white is no longer white, no other work done to her other than a rehair. I had every intention on making a custom with the hair colour scheme the original owner had in mind but when I received it but as per usual I changed my mind and wanted to start from scratch!

I've attached a photo of the problem I now face........the original owner must have pushed too much hair through the plugs and now they are all split. How can I rehair my pony when this happens? Is there anyway around this? Il be using 3 colours if that makes a difference to the way I need to do this.
(The holes where that bad that when I unwrapped the pony the hair just started falling out so I would of had to do something anyway to fix her)

Please help me pony fans, I'd love to make her all better again and as cute as possible!!!:ponylove:

Thanks in advance! Xxx

I don't know anything about re-hairing. But what about if you glue, sew or something else to attach the hair to a long rectangle strip (make sure its wide enough as well) of fabric or something.
Then removed the head and poke the fabric through the strips on her head (from outside to inside) (might be worth making it into a line or do this for the part that is the line) then glue the sides of the fabric side's to the inside of the head so the fabric will hold the hair on either side of the hair line on the inside (best not to put the glue too near the hair line so it doesn't mess up the hair) to get it so it looks like individual plugs sew the hair in individual sections. I guess you could sew the hair onto plastic as well long as its flexible enough to go inside her head.

Think this should work, hope it doesn't sound too confusing was simple in my head :p

Hope it's of some help

You can rehair her but you will need to use glue afterwards to make sure it is secure.
I use a needle and thread method. I use a plug of hair twice the length I need. Using a needle pull a knotted loop of thread(I use fishing line type stuff) through your plug hole from the outside through the head. Obviously your loop of thread needs to be long enough to reach out the neck hole.
Once you've done that hold that piece aside and do the same thing to the plughole(or gaping hole in your case, lol) directly across from the first.
Now you should have two loops of thread sticking out the neck hole. Use your plug of hair and put one end in a loop and pull it back through the top of the head. Repeat with the other loop. Now you should effectively see two plugs of hair rooted.

You still may have a somewhat harder time keeping it neat due to the extent of the plug hole ripping. Usually it's only a few to worry about not half the head.
Once your done use a thick glue inside the head to secure the hair like Fabri-Tac.

I like the idea of the strip of fabric to sew the individual plugs on to. I never would of thought of that. I've got some canvas fabric reminants that I could use. Thank you lollipop!
I've got a baby pony too that the plug holes have been split by the original owner too. I will try sweetlittlejennys advice for that one too.
Oh these poor girls, I thought I was doing a good thing by finish off these customs and now I've got heaps of work to do!

From now on I'm just gonna look for ponies with hair cuts to rehair, at least that would be the only problem and that can be fixed easier!

Thanks for you help!
