I've been away for a little while (my goodness am I glad to no longer be in and out of hospitals and doctors! Just counciling left and getting much better!)
So I'm kicking off my return to ponies and you guys with a little brag of what came in the mail today!
I'm so happy I've got some personal sought after ponies all in one eBay go!
Some have little problems but I'm sure they can be fixed (I'm calling on your advise!)

So here is what I've got!

Gypsy!!!! Yey! She's perfect other than glitter loss. I've tried reglittering on another pony before but it was too chunky, what can you guys recommend?
She definitely needs a clean (well they all do) but I'm worried about her been such a bright colour that a boil wash would fade her?

Sweetheart sister flower burst!!!! Yippy! She is perfect! Glossy hair and she even has her earring! So so happy.

Mascarade!!!! Needs a good clean. She has a scuff on her twinkle eye, can this be fixed?

Mommy and daddy apple delight. They have marks where they had a saddle and bridal on. They are sooooo not clean, when I put mommy next to my original mommy she is brown! Ewwww! Is there a way to make them white again without sun fading (I'm currently trying to sunfade a gusty for someone else but it's a looooong slow process!

Mommy Bouqet. She is good, just needs a good clean.

How much do you guys think these are worth? I'm no good a pony values so I wanna make sure I got a good deal and not over paid! Thanks pony friends!

And here's the pic!

Welcome back! :satisfied:

What a great haul, Gypsy is one of my favourites - I'm thrilled you got one of your own! I've seen her go for various prices - on UK Ebay, between £7-£15, but I don't constantly look since I've got one of my own and have since grabbed one for my friend in the US too. Someone else is probably better qualified to price check for you!

Have you taken a magic eraser over the dirty ponies? I find that's the best way to get them clean again, although it won't get rid of all marks. Don't use Oxy-10 on white ponies, because every time I've tried so far, they've gone yellow! (Works great on yellow/peach ponies though, hehe.) I also managed to get baking soda wipes in The Range, and those are good for getting grubby marks off ponies as well as neutralising stink, but magic eraser is still better for dirt. Other than that it is sun fading, sadly. I've still got a Coco Berry with pink highlighter marks... she's been sun fading (or trying) since last September! UK sunlight is just not strong enough.

I hope they clean up well. :D

Thanks hanamadoi. Missed you guys!
I'm very happy with gypsy. I actually remember going to Woolworths with my nana one time to pick a pony and passing her up because I did not like her (how mean am I! Well, was!) insane memory of childhood, I remember like everything yet now a days I can't remember what I had for breakfast lol!

Oooo! Nice one! I love it! Awww..so pretty, I love them all!

Hi! Congrats on flowerburst! These are tricky problems. Even the very ultra fine glitter I have found (for manicures) is still bigger than pony glitter. So what I did was get plasti-zap which is a super glue that works on soft plastics like ponies. I put a thin film on with a cuticle stick or cocktail stick then gently blew glitter onto the glue. This way you only add a light dusting of the ultrafine glitter in a matching colour with a transparent very grabby glue that dries colourless and shiny. It augments the existing poorer glitter giving more sparkle but it doesn't look as different as if you added a thick layer with a craft glue. Alternatively with glitter loss, you could just ignore it. I find on certain ponies I'd rather they had faint or patchy glitter, somehow it suits them. My Sunbeam and Starshine both have patchy glitter but I'm OK with it.

You can't replace that metallic sheen on the TE ponies sadly no-one has found anything quite like it. So don't worry about something you can't do anything about. Sadly non of my TEs have a perfect sheen over their eye jewels! If the scuff has gone deep into the plastic you might be able to make it look prettier by using very fine grade black sandpaper - start with the larger size and work down to one of those black nail files. Then use magic eraser. I've not done this and I'm not sure how the hard plastic will respond to abrasives, but you are more likely to get a smooth finish if you use fine grade paper and work down to the finest grain. You could maybe put a layer of clear polyurethane varnish on when you have finished to make it shiny again.

Magic eraser is an abrasive and takes off a thin layer of plastic, that's why it's a last resort for me if I can soak and scrub a pony instead I will. But ponies with a mechanism inside like Bouquet... you can't get them wet. If you get any water inside them and you could get rust and other problems so best just to work over a bit at a time with magic eraser. However if the pony has no mechanism inside, for removing general dirt I would check the neck seam and if there is any give in the glue the head will probably pop off with an overnight soak and hot water. I'd soak the pony overnight in hand hot water with shower gel or baby soap (not dish soap as contains ionic surfuctants - bad for collectibles). Pop the head off in the morning running under very hot tap if necessary and only prize the neck seam apart with a round blunt item like a table knife. Once the head is off you can soak and scrub to your heart's content knowing you can dry the pony out thoroughly when you are done. After a long soak I use toothpaste mixed with shower gel or baby soap and a hard toothbrush to scrub the non-glittery and non-painted areas. Then after rinsing and drying I work on the stubborn stains with magic eraser.

Long term sun fading may damage the plastic although it can work wonders. If you've had the pony in full sun for a couple of weeks and seen no improvement with a pen mark, give up... not all pen ink is photosensitive including highlighter. Try baby oil instead because it can dissolve and remove some oily stains. Failing that try nail varnish remover avoiding other painted areas and rinse well with warm soapy water to ensure all the acetone is removed afterwards. On mlp arena there is a thread with advice about which ponies are safe to sunfade or not - some ponies go brown in the sun. Not sure about the Apple Delights so check. Try the above mentioned cleaning methods before sunfading is my advice. Personally I don't mind cream coloured ponies, my Moondancer is cream she's fine by me :) Hope this is relevant/helpful!

Great finds! :) Ponies values depends on how good condition they are... for example you can search how much they cost for example in ebay (and check the sold list also) and other sides, to see how much people did pay for the ponies
