Hi all,

I did a search on here to see if this topic was started already but i could not find anything so i am starting one. :)

Who loves the equestria girl dolls? I DO !!!!!!

i can not help it, i never had a doll as a kid i mostly had ponies so when they came out with a combination of dolls and ponies together i just lost it LOL i love them i really do.

I thought a thread about who is out there and where we found them would be a great idea. ( i know there is a thread on the arena) but we need one here to.

the newest stuff in my area of quebec canada is:

target has the 3 pack of wild girl dolls, the exclusive.
toys r us just got the single dj doll in, they also have her car but empty not with anything else.

Everyone is on the hunt for adagio dazzle but so far someone found her in calgary canada at wal mart
 
I am so very torn about Equestria Girls. I h-a-t-e the fact that they're making the ponies human. I didn't like how anthro they were in 3.5 and I hate that they're actual people now. If I wanted a doll I would buy a dang Barbie. I'm also worried that one day they won't produce pony toys and just produce dolls.

Now that being; a few weeks ago I received an EG Twlight Sparkle doll in a toy lot. The second I picked her up I was in love. She was soooo adorable. Now I'm so torn whether I like them or not . I want to hop in the car and go buy them all but I still don't like anthro ponies.
 
i doubt they would ever stop making loose ponies and only dolls. i do like the doll and pony packs that came out.

i hope to be able to take pictures of all my dolls and post here but right now the pony room floor is covered in my living room ceiling. yep yep yep renovations suck sometimes.

what i do find interesting is how they are selling dj's car and dj herself. here at my tru they have the car only and the doll only both separate. apparently in the us somewhere they are selling the car with sun glasses and another set with the car, sun glasses and dj.

How funny I tried to draw an anthro pony Applejack and she came out like a Barbie with no hands O-O...... That explains how hard I suck on drawing *facepalm*


I agree on how everyone thought EqG was when MLP was going to be the end of the world.
I didn't liked them at first.... Until I watched the movies.... And I admit.... I liked it.
After going to Walmart, I went to check at the toy store, and NO PONIES FOUND! I WAS DEAD!
(Ofc there were, but they moved sections and Equestria girls are in the old pony section. The new MLP section is next to MH and EAH section)
And I bought a Pinkie....
I can't get over the colored skin and pony ears.
But they are cute overall.

Out of topic but, I use the EqGs accesories on my ponies instead lol
 
Not a fan. They look weird. Why some one would had blue skin? Never watched movie or looked those toys closely and I haven't given them to chance win my heart ;). And I guess I never will :p.
I should say that Hasbros should stay with ponies (and maybe if they want produce doll then make up another brand and story about dolls) because I guess it is the biggest and lead(?) factory in pony toys industry and it would be shame if they decided to move to just dolls (and stupid idea. They got so many big competitions in that area, like Bratz and Barbie).
 
I have mixed feelings about Equestria Girls dolls. I'd much rather buy brushable ponies than human dolls with weird colored skin and pony ears. But that being said, they are quite cute and original looking.

To me the whole Equestria Girls looks like Hasbro's attempt to make more money and compete with Mattel and their Barbie and Monster High dolls:rolleyes:

I absolutely hated the first Equestria Girls movie, luckily Rainbow Rocks was a lot better. The new Rainbow Rocks dolls appear to be better quality than the previous ones. I'm gonna buy Sunset Shimmer, Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze, and if I have extra money maybe Adagio Dazzle too. The Dazzlings made Rainbow Rocks movie watchable, I wish Hasbro would make pony versions of them too.
 
i agree that the first ones that came out do not look as good as the newer stuff that is out now or going to come out. i think the 2 versions of sunset shimmer i have look great, i really like her.
the newer dolls that are going to be released with feet and more movable limbs look fantastic. that newest fluttershy doll with the sort of sad looking face i just must have.
plus the maniac mayham exclusive doll looks amazing.

i do think hasbro is trying to compete with monster high dolls because they both have weird colored skin. i think it is a good idea they figure people like ponies to turning the ponies into a doll works.

i have not see the equestria girls movies yet
 
I have to say I am not a fan. However, I have never been a fan of human-shaped dolls. I think I've only every owned 1 Barbie in my life and can't remember every playing with her. So for me there is just no appeal in the dolls. They are cute and interesting to look at, but I can't say I will ever collect them.

As for the movies, I moaned when they announced it was happening but I absolutely adore the first movie and applaud how the writers handled it. I haven't had a chance to watch Rainbow Rocks yet.
 
I was kind of afraid when the announced the movie. It seemed like Hasbro was just looking for a way to compete with the Bratz and Monster High toy lines, and the movie was a way to introduce a new line of toys. Thankfully, the shows writers kept the storytelling and heart of the series in the movie, and it was wonderful. I just watch Rainbow Rocks, and it is as good as the first movie. I honestly wouldn't mind getting a movie to bridge the gap between seasons.
 
I realized that Mattel made a Zombie Unicorn hybrid for the Freaky Fusions line. And even funnier, a guy.
Maybe that happens when EqG meets MH (AKA when Hasbro meets Mattel and messes up)

ok equestria girls look way better than that monster high guy. hopefully i can start taking pictures of all the ones i got soon :)

i am on the search for adazio dazzle but she has not shown up around me yet
 
When I first saw the dolls they made me think of Jem at first since she is a Hasbro property. And how back then it was Jem vs Barbie. Hasbro is back throwing their hat in the ring with the EG dolls. Now I see it was EG vs MH. But it is still the same Hasbro vs Mattel.
 
I don't like them, but I kind of want to. It's like, if they'd just spend a little more on them to make them higher quality, I'd probably love them. They have the potential to be amazing but they just fall too short of the mark for me.
 
what i also find weird is that my local stores do not get the entire set. they will have maybe 3 of one set and 4 of another but never all of the set. so i am left with missing some girls from certain sets. it makes me go to more stores to try to complete the sets
 
I like the customs I've seen of the dolls, and I really want a Lyra EG doll, but after repainting her eyes, painting her one white leg, and putting a stripe in her hair, what would really be the point of buying her? I might as well buy any doll lol.

I like them and I don't like them. I wish they were made with better quality and more detail. They're a cute idea and it's cool they made them into humans but weird at the same time. I only have 4 right now and I probably won't get more unless it's a different character like Octavia Melody. I saw her on Amazon and I really want her.
 
i have never seen any customs of the dolls yet, do you have pictures?

i so want that octavia doll, she looks so beautiful
