Do you prefer your ponies boxed or unboxed?

Just wondering what everyone's stance on boxed vs unboxed ponies is! I have some in box and some without. I can't help but stare wistfully at the packaged ones though because I really want to take them out and have a proper look! Although I know I'd probably regret it later. Do you prefer to keep yours as packaged as possible? Or do you like to have them freestanding and available for hairstyling/posing etc?

I like having mine out of the box so that I can care for them and style their hair freely (and yes, even play with them!). I feel guilty when I keep them boxed because I feel like they're just going to waste.

I have a few ponies that I've had boxed for a while, but I still plan on taking them out; I was just waiting until we'd found a permanent house so that I wouldn't lose any of their accessories. And even when I take them out, I always keep their backcards/boxes! ;)

I got two new G4 Brushables today, and I really want to take them off their backcards, but I know I'll be sad when they do that typical thing where they rip half the design off when you open them!

If it is G1 or G2 ponies in boxe. I do keep them there. Even if I want to take them out I won't because those ponies can't get anymore from shops. Also they are more valuable in the boxes. G3 or G4 I would get them out but I do not collect them so..

UUUUGGGH, I HATE that! Oh well, lol.

I am a MIB collector, all generations.

I also hate that. What you can do is to open it from a little corner, put some drops of water and press so it spreads along the edges. It will fall right off!

Or some will.

I only collect G1 so luckily I have never came across any I could afford and never had to deal with the temptation of opening them. I love to hold my ponies and look at them so it would be pretty hard to resist but I would hate to do it knowing there is so few out there. I totally appreciate them in their absolute most minty conditions but I don't seek them out, as of yet, for my collection.

I typically buy my older Ponies loose so it's not an issue for me. I like my Ponies liberated and free to roam and play. Recently when I purchase G4s I leave them in the box so their hair won't get trashed. Later when I can display them I'll rip 'em all open and fun some fun.

Sometimes though, if I'm feeling blue, I find I feel a little better if I open up a new MLP and play with it, so I'll go pick up one of the new packages and tear it open. It's good therapy for me.

YES! Whenever I open a new pony, I get so excited, especially with G3s! When I got my MIB Razzaroo, it seriously brought me back to my childhood days of collecting ponies. It makes me happy and sad at the same time because I miss being young and buying G3s at stores!

Ahh I know what you mean about the childhood excitement of unboxing! It always reminds me of when I was little and did really well in school so my mum bought me a G2 Morning Glory and I couldn't wait to open her!

Older ponies, newer ponies I prefer them outta box. Older ponies I buy loose. I leave the boxed ones for the MiB Collectors.

I would go nutso if I couldn't touch my ponies and place them around the house. A pony in a box is so valuable but so lonely. Its depressed and isolated from all the joys of play. My DH is a keep in the box kind of collector with the stuff he collects. I can't see how he does it. It makes me just crazy. I totally get though why some people are mib moc collectors. I value their self control.

I too love to open a boxed pony on a difficult day.

I had two MIB G3s who I had to liberate, so I do not currently have any MIB ponies. If I had MIB or MOC G1s or G2s I wouldn't unbox them (though the temptation would be soooo great...). Not a pony, but I currently have a Bishoujo Batwoman figure who I have managed to keep MIB, so I thiiink my willpower can hold out...

Gen 4 all new in box funkos, I have all of them now except the new glitters of Apple Bloom and Scoots. I'm going to post a picture soon since I finally have a place to display them all.

Would it wreck the value if she decided to bust herself out? I mean she is Bat Woman.

I prefer them loose, but I do like them to have all of their accessories. I have a few of the G3 Art Ponies that are boxed, but everything else I have is loose. I do like looking at MOC/MIB ponies, but I don't have the space or the money for them, and it would probably be too much of a temptation for me... ;)

Out of.the.box!

Unless the packaging.is really pretty then ill.consider getting 2, one for mib the other for.display ;)

I like my Ponies unwrapped & running free. I have two in their packing & they cry to me for their freedom ............. sadness
