Cut and Paste

I hope I don't upset anyone with this topic...
I was wondering how many people who offer adoptables, just cut and paste the persona cutie marks?
I've been guilty of doing this myself. No offense, but some symbols are quite complex and when you're stressed for time, cutting and pasting the original mark is much easier and faster.

A more specific example... I made up a pony and symbol for a fellow pony friend, and she uses this adoptable as an example to show other artists. The symbol I drew for her pony, is very often just copied and pasted into someone else's artwork.

*I've noticed when dealing with Quackers, most of us just paste the original symbol from a photo of her into the art piece, not bothering to draw it ourselves :lol:
I know I've done that before!*

Does anyone have anything against doing this?
Do you do it?

Again, I'm not trying to start a debate. I'm just curious as to other people's opinions on this matter.

Some symbols are just too hard to draw. The adoptable is line art and only there to be formed to our pony. Taking the time to get every detail right to make the symbol would be hard for a simple adoptable.

I've never made any, but that's what I think. They can cut and paste my symbol all they want, I have nothing against it. I'd do the same. Plus I wouldn't want to get it wrong. The symbol is almost more representing than our colors are on our personas! Haha!

But otherwise yeah. I don't think it's a matter of being lazy or going the easy route or anything. I'm fine with it. :] They're the ones making it.

However, if I was asking someone (and paying) for them to draw something for me, and they copied and pasted a symbol, then there would be problems.

Example

A good idea is that you should always have a good picture of your persona's symbol(which I need to do,LOL!)
1: I right click and click "view image" or "save image".
2: In MS paint I click"Edit"then"paste from...".
3: browse until you find where you saved the symbol.Then when you have it,resize it and stick it on the ponies backside.
Here's what I did for ladylavenderblue:

Her persona's symbol was hard for me to do,and I thought it looked beter like that.
When you are doing this,color around the ponies symbol if it is like this.

yes and no. i only do it if it is a difficult symbol to draw myself, but if it easy and simple to draw, then i will take time to draw it. or if i am creating my own symbol, i look for a picture that is exactly what i need. it does make it easier to just cut and paste, but i will from time to time draw the symbol.

That depends on the pony, if it's a Hasbro I will copy and paste the symbol in a seperate layer then color over it. That way I know the symbol is right and I can skew it to fit my need's, like if the pony is at and odd angle or something. If it's someones persona (which I don't think I've actually done many of those) that was drawn by another artist I would prolly try to draw it on my own, so give it my presonal style.

I basically do the same as lev_21n01. If there is a good symbol reference I'll put it in a separate layer and paint over it. If its easy enough, I'll just eyeball it. I, personally, don't like copying and pasting because I can never get it to look quite right.

That being said, I don't condemn people who do use it when doing adoptables. Especially if it happens to be a very popular adoptable with a lot of requests. It just saves time and sanity.
