Customizing Question...

Hi! I have a question. I am customizing several G1s, and when I took the symbols off, they smeared a little. Will this affect the final paint job? I have already started doing the primer coat. Also, in your opinion, what is the best modeling stuff for sculpting with? Thanks!

I will move this to the Customs & Art section for you. I think you'll get more responses there. :)

customizing

I use 100% acetone to completely take off symbols on ponies. Regular nail polish usually doesn't have enough acetone in it and tends to smear the symbol rather then completely remove it. You can find 100% near regular acetone or near house painting supplies in stores like Wal-mart (if you're in the US). As for sculpting, I use apoxie sculpt which is air dry and pretty easy to work with, there's also sculptey type products out there for sculpting work. Good luck.

If you're painting the actual pony, the smeared symbols shouldn't be an issue. The paint will just go over top, nice as you please. Otherwise, yeah, what mckwolfe said. And you can add me to the "Apoxie Sculpt is worth ordering" camp. Love the stuff.
