Hey guys,
I've just started dabbling in the
wonderful world of customizing.

I have a G1 Big Brother "Tex",
who is unfortunately riddled with
those horrid brown cancer spots.
I've counted 6 on him so far...
every few weeks it looks like he gets more.
:( ..... its sad cause I really love Tex.

But.. I'm just wondering..
is it okay to customize/paint over
a cancer ridden pony?
Should I even have him around my other ponies?

Wouldn't it be kinda like using a "bait" pony?

Thanks ~ :smilepony:

That's so sad. :( I have a bait baby moondancer who I want to repaint and "restore" to factory pretty using paints. I'll have to keep her separate from everyone else, though.

I'd just keep him in seclusion if you do bait him / customize him. Don't need your others getting it. I don't think that the paint stops the spread... but others here are more versed in such things, so I'm wondering what they will have to say.

If it keeps getting worse it may be mold, I know that there's one type of mold that looks very similar to cancer spots that does spread (while cancer spots are caused by a problem with the plastic and thus don't spread to other Ponies)

Personally I don't think you should use him as bait just because he has cancer. Looks like he still has nice hair and a good body otherwise, right? =) The boys aren't as common and are very sought after just as they are, even with flaws..

It probably won't spread to other ponies. As for painting over it? I really don't know what would happen. The thing is some ponies, when they start getting cancer really bad, begin to get sticky as plasticizer leaks out of their bodies. So I'm not sure what would happen to any paint you add IF that were to happen.

This may seem odd, but you can either do a 5% bleach solution (water 95%) and soak him in it. If it is mold, it will kill it (this works best if it's a light colored pony to begin with). Another way is to boil some water and dunk the pony. Make sure not to touch the sides of the pot or you may melt him. Hope this helps a little! If that doesn't work, I got nothin.
