I seem to do lots of "has anybody done?" posts...

Anyway. I recently got hold of some bits and pieces of ponywear- G3 and G1- and wondered how often it was customized. I know I'm already having fun with two Majesty crowns, and I have some G3 shoes that are sitting in the forefront of my mind. Between the two I'm hatching a princess outfit, I think. Or maybe a prom queen. Heh.

Anyone done it before? Have recommendations or warnings? Would want to buy it?

I can't recall anyone customizing the existing clothing, but I use it to make patterns for NEW clothes. I know I'm not the only one. Here's one of my very simple skirt patterns...

Ahah, there is my Customs Board stalker. ;)

That such cute Ponywear! I'm hopefully getting hold of at least one of the plastic pony hats like the kind that came with the Pretty Parlor. I may eventually move on to making original ponywear, as I *do* love to sew, but I don't quite have the time for that yet. ^^;

Oh, Kar, I had that fleece you made Ribbon's accessories out of! Mine is a blanket now, though. ^_^ Super cute accessories.

Oh, Kar, I LOVE your little hat and scarf set. (I'm a fan of scarveson ponies, in case you couldn't guess!)
Cherrykitsune, you know I just love to drop by and stalk you. :tongue1: I actually don't know where that hat came from...it was lingering in my mom's sewing supplies. Anything is fair game if she's not using it ATM. The flowers on the hat were a steal, though: when the workers at the local Ben Franklin's sweep the flower aisles, they bag up the dropped flowers and sell them in huge bags for a buck. They're great for pony hair accessories or planting around the castle. ;)

Haha, after my wedding I'll have lots of flowers to play with. My bouquet, I may keep, but everything else has to go somewhere! I don't want to just toss them out. I'll give everyone the opportunity to keep their corsages and bouquets if they want to, but I have a bunch of decorative flowers, too. Expect to see ponies with lots of purple flowers sometime after next month.

All of these were sewn by hand and based on real MLP wear. There was some demand but in the end, it just took too long to make these to be worth it.

Design #1 (URLs because of picture size): Spiny!

Created with the baby dragon pony wear pattern during the infamous Superbowl with Janet Jackson. I was so busy sewing this I didn't even notice what happened. ;D

It took me forever to work this pattern out. The white suit is the leotard from the ballerina mother & baby wear. Everything else is my design. The hardest part was finding a thin white ribbon for the scarf part. I was fanatical about my materials.

I think I have scans and very detailed instructions for this pattern somewhere on my computer. I might be convinced to upload them and share if there's enough interest.

That is so precious! What beautiful ponywear. I know I don't have the patience for that much detail. I think I'll stick to easier things, at least for now.

That was my first attempt at sewing and was a great learning experience. But the detail involved ended up killing it, it was just too much. I am looking forward to creating new costumes someday when I have time. :)

Was that really your first attempt? It's excellent! I've been sewing since I was very young, so of course my first attempts look nothing like that, lol.

Totally interested in the Sailor Moon one!! :D I can't sew for crap really, but I'll try to for that!

I'll see what I can do this weekend then. If I'm remembering right all I have to do is upload the HTML file and pics. No promises though, it's 11 PM and just got home from work...and probably working this weekend. ;D
