Custom for Japan

Heya! I actually managed to make a 'real' custom in between baby needs! Yaay! I haven't named her but she's up on ebay now if you are interested. 100% of the profits will go to the red cross for Japan.

The idea behind this pony was to draw cherry blossom mandalas in the water. The mandala is a symbol often used in meditation to centre the soul. The cherry blossom represents the impermanence of life, and the ripples in the water represent how the loving kindness of just one person can have a global positive effect.

She has been dyed with fabric dye, rehaired with DH Tea Rose, painted with craft acrylics and sealed with matte mod podge.

She's beautiful! The light and intricate symbol against the black body makes me think of a henna tattoo, but in the negative. I love the symbolism, as well, and the pink and green flower in her hair was a perfect little touch. Very nice!
