Can someone explain modge podge?

thanks:D
one more thing. when modpodge dries, it doesnt come off with water? so its safe to condition hair and such after sealing?

Yes, just don't rub it's body too hard.
I've had a custom or two completely sealed in Mod Podge and then I had to dip her butt in near boiling water to get her tail in and I rubbed too hard on her side (or my nail caught it or something) and a little patch of paint came off =(

So just treat her gently =) As you should with customs anyways ;)

I use both Mod Podge and Testor's Dullcote. I've been using both products for the past 3 years without issue.

Mod Podge matte works well as a sealer but I always dilute it with water - I'm going to guess 2 parts Mod Podge to 1 part water. When I first started customizing this was always recommended but I haven't seen it mentioned in some time. When it's watered down it goes on very smooth and gives you a nice finish. I've also ran it through my airbrush the few times I was out of Dullcote.

I normally only use Mod Podge when sealing symbols. I prefer Testor's Dullcote for full body repaints. Dullcote is the only product I've used that gives me a true matte finish. I find that even Mod Podge matte leaves a little more shine than I like to see on my customs. I'd also like to add that I am in Florida and it is extremely humid. I usually spray my ponies outside and then move them inside to dry.

Beware of other spray sealers. My fist custom pony was forever ruined when I used an acrylic spray sealer. Even though the pony was kept inside the sealer never completely dried and she collected lint and dust like a magnet. :(

thank you for sooo much usefull tips:D
now I know what to order, and how to use it:D sealer was the main thing that kept me from making more customs.

You know what, guys.. now I have a question >.> When you're sealing and for those of you that seal the symbol only, doesn't that make it look weird? I mean... for those of you that have symbols old fasionedly (just on the hips) doesn't it look odd to have one or two spots sealed and the rest of the body not? Am I making any sense? <.<

If you thin out the sealer enough it doesn't look bad. It might be a tiny bit shinier than the rest, but it's not too noticeable.
