Did anyone watch that documentary? On all the new fans of MLP FIM?

I watched it last night. It was pretty good. I recommend it. I get a little confused because bronies seems to be a term just for males interested in the show and other times it seems they are referring to females as well. Sometimes called Pegasisters, sometimes just bronies. I don't know why women can just be called ponies and men bronies or all of us bronies, but it's a trend thing I guess.

Anyone consider themselves a brony or pegasister? I started with G1 as a kid, but I like the new show too. I like the developed characters and plots. I don't know if I'm a brony though or just a collector? Or an artist collector? or?

Anyone on any forums for bronies? What are they like?

I found it on netflix and was like WTH is this? I called my sister in here and we were only gonna watch like 10 minutes of it but watched the whole thing. It was actually pretty good.
Being a female, i HATE the term pegasister. It just sounds so dumb to me. Since I have been around for over a decade, I just consider myself a collector.

I think Brony's are just into the Fim line, and are in general are older males. I know alot of college aged males are into the show. I like all generations (minus G2 and core 7 G3's).

I agree with you. I was going to watch it thinking it was going to be something stupid I'd laugh about later, but I was impressed. I saw it on netflix too, lol!

I about died when I realized John de Lancie was part of the documentary! I'm a Star Trek Next Gen fan and was ridiculously excited!

I don't care for the term pegasister either... just seems.. lame, lol

If that's what other people want to call themselves though, whatever :smilepony:

I got into the hobby because of my new found love of customs and the childhood memories of G1, mostly Rescue at Midnight Castle. I must have watched that over and over a 100 times as a kid.

I really enjoy the characters and stories of the new series, but I love the look of the G1's and G3s.

So, I guess I'm a collector :smilepony:

oh if it is in Netflix I need to watch it, out of curiosity ;)

About term of bronies I personally think bronies are the older male fans. In my experience some of the fans make the pony films too sexual and dislikes other collectors that collect older generation (not all of course, can't be generalized!)

I have found some bronies in here trading post, too but they seems nice! :smilepony:
Never heard about pegasisters but that sounds sooooo lame and bad x> I call myself simply as pony collector.. I started collecting after finding my old childhood herd ;) And I loved (and still too) to watch the my little pony:the movie when I was child.

But I think everyone can call them whatever they want :) And everybody have their own personality, so labeling them isn't right thing to do :p

i watched it, it was fun to watch and well put together i thought

I had a brony in my German class. I introduced myself by sating hey nice pinky pie bag, you a brony? He introduced me to a local "brony" group and I attended an event they had last year. There was one other girl who showed up besides myself. Every one in the group seemed to be about FIM or g4 and no other generation. I myself don't really follow the FMI series , I have watched some episodes but not many. I have a love of G1's and I consider myself a collector.

I watched a bit of it on Netflix, and I rather enjoyed it. I think Pegasister does sound rather silly!

I did get into MLP through the show, but I consider myself a collector, as that's the only real aspect that interests me fully {And playing with the ponies XD}

I've only ever met one brony in real life, who was my older cousin. He didn't diss the other gens, and was rather impressed with my collection. He also showed me amusing pony memes, so that was a bonus ^-^

Oh I will have to check the documentary out. Thanks.

Bronies are always male to me since it''s a combo with "bro/brother". Since MLP is usually thought of as female oriented it makes sense to me male fans might want/get their own identifying term. I'm not sure if the G4 female fans have come up with a term on their own (maybe they need one if they don't want to be lumped in with fans who are interested in the other generations.) that has been widely embraced. The FiM fandom isn't exactly my scene although I have seen the show. I'm just a collector. I've been into MLP since I was little in the 80's and do collect all the generations.
I have interacted with a few Bronies online. There are some here too.
Most don't bother me at all. They can be viewed quite negatively though because there are ones that do the sexual fanart and such. And some bronies can be quite... serious I guess is the nice word towards many things or when dealing with other people.
But, I'm sure all devoted fans of one thing or another tend to have eccentricities. It's not like I haven't seen women (professional adult women) act in ways that have made me incredibly uncomfortable or embarrassed over some item of pop culture whether it was on the internet or IRL.
