MLPTP EVENT BLOCK PARTY: Never Have I Ever - PONY EDITION!!

I look for ponies every opportunity I get, especially vacations! We rarely get to go anywhere with good pickin's, so when we're outta town, I go into full throttle pony detection mode!

Always! I see a yard or estate sale sign "oo, oo, can we go look?", or a hole in the wall thrift store "c'mon, just a quick peek?". I'm always going in the antique stores and rummage malls. You never know where you might find one!

I always go pony hunting on vacation! It's neat to see how luck changes depending on where you are. I've found a ton of ponies that way, including the Munchy that I didn't buy for $5 because I was a silly child who decided to save her money for something else and I will eternally regret it ;A;

Ok, ok. But keep it on the DL....

Many moons ago; when I had pretty much just joined the TP; I bought a Dream Castle. And not just any Dream Castle...

MIB Italian Dream Castle. I guess it wasn't technically MIB, was missing Re unicorno & Spike. But all those tiny accessories were still in there plastic bags. The stickers were still on there sheet. Darn right I ripped those suckers open; I had such a great time displaying my ponies in it. If it had the pony & Spike I might not of opened it. But it still brings a huge smile to my face every time I pull it out & play with it. :D
Oh, how envious I am right now! :p

"I'm so glad most of you haven't squished the poor dears by rolling around with them."

ROUND ELEVEN: Never Have I Ever ...opened a MOC/MIB G1 post 1999!
No; I’ve chosen instead to spend my extra cash on acquiring as many of the ponies I missed out on between childhood and a few years ago as possible. Plus some choice customs. I’ve also been leery of the MOC/MIB ponies because of the potential for discovering damage from plasticizer leakage. I’ve opened and cleaned up too many oily, stained, smelly G3 ponies with hair falling out. Makes me shudder. :eek:

Oh yes! On vacations to Maine, my 8-year-old daughter (and fellow pony lover) always pack a bunch to play with, admire, and keep us smiling. They always ride in our take-on luggage when we fly and they sleep in a prominent spot on our nightstand after we arrive. Typically, we bring a couple of favorite G1s, G3s, and a few small ones—Dolly Mix, Tiny Tins, Cutie Mark Crews and/or blind bags. I also tend to bring a project pony with me—for deflocking, re-hairing, etc. I routinely bring a small pony or two with me to appointments, meetings, and work. They keep me smiling and make other people smile, too! I find it hard to go ANYWHERE without at least one pony friend with me! <3:starshine::blossom:

Yes, all the time!! I actually carried a Baby Quackers in my bag just because all last year. I post lots of pictures on my Instagram (shameless self-plug, it's @ponystrange) and I bring a pony out in case there's opportunity for pictures.
Great idea—taking photos! If you don’t mind, I’ll copy your idea.

I have looked for ponies on vacation, but don’t typically find much. Maybe because my vacations over the last several years have only been to Maine. Our thrift stores at home have a much more extensive selection than anything I find in Maine, at least where I go.

I’m careful when cleaning my ponies, so I haven’t had that issue yet.
