I was very pleased with their packaging. Super easy and simple to remove from the box and replace for display!

All of mine are here! I pulled Aurora out but didn't get her completely out of the plastic. I'm uncertain about getting them out or not. I want to free them so badly. Plus I don't have room for displaying boxes..... I am very happy for them to finally be here.

one thing I will say is it was probably best for me to get mine shipped as I can imagine myself otherwise standing for hours staring at the whole batch on the shelf in a store trying to get a "perfect" marbleized variety. I do wonder what their process was to create this paint style

Two of them were ordered for me as a gift. ;u; The two I liked the most - Aurora and Nova. Looks like they'll have some pretty vastly different ship times though. The amazon listing was a bit strange.

At this point I pretty much take imperfection as a part of the experience of My Little Pony, so the mismatch doesn't bother me much. That said, I would be interested in taking a look at the variance if I could find them in stores, too. I'd definitely do the same thing and look for the "best" or "most perfect" one haha. It'll probably never happen though, most of the time this retro, anniversary, basic fun stuff seems to miss my local stores. And... would you even get the discount if you bought them local?

Beautiful!! I sniffed her right away but she doesn't smell like 80's plastic. That was always my favorite part of getting a new pony back in the day. Fresh 80's plastic. I really want to get them out!!

In case it’s relevant, here’s the bottom of the pearly ponies. I’m a little bit more forgiving about this still saying the bridge direct because you can assume they just use the same molds. And we can tell that they are different because they’re pearly. As opposed to the 40th anniversary ones where there’s no outward way to tell.

I haven’t put it all back together yet, but if you’re like me and you enjoy taking them out of the package before popping them back in for this way purposes, this is what the pearly set looks like.

You can remove the two large ponies by going in both the top and bottom of the cardboard area. And then taking out that middle part. Obviously I don’t remember everything you might have to slice some tape. XD

They put elastics at the base of their tails, and then above the elastic they anchored them in with those little plastic doodads that we usually see on hangtags that they make stretchy and use for other packaging. I know how don’t know how else to describe it or if these things technically have names, but it’s gonna be annoying and you’re gonna have to cut those in order to get the tails out.

When it comes to getting out Glory and the brush, you can’t go through the top of the plastic and reach in. But you can slice the clear circle stickers at the bottom and be able to lift it up the garage door style. The only part where the plastic is glued into the cardboard is at the top inside.

Now I’m gonna try to put them all back in. XD

The stripes aren’t paint, they’re two colors of plastic, pretty much like mixing two colors of clay together and smooshing it in different directions until it becomes marbled. I’m curious how they achieve it, too.

The stripes are painted on. I have some who came with rubs in the stripes, unfortunately. The stripes come off easily with nail polish remover (I tested it on a stripe that was on the underside of her hoof and it came right off).

I thought so. It would be cool to swirl them in the mold but I don’t know if that’s very cost-effective? Obviously I don’t know how such things work. But even the colorswirl ponies of our youth were painted on.

Well then. When my initial scratching at the stripes had no effect I assumed they weren’t painted. That makes me even more curious as to the process and the patterns being so random and not matching up. Thank you for correcting my assumption!
