dinobuzz commissioned a piece from me. She liked the Majesty & Spike drawing I did for the Fair last summer so much that she requested a similar one done with Majesty as a younger unicorn. So here it is (my apologies for the watermarks):

I just wanted to tell you this was so beautiful, I made it my desktop background on my work computer.

Do you have any tips for working with pastel pencils? Your images come out so lovely -- much better than my attempts so far.
 
Thanks for the compliments *blushes* Ponies are most fun to draw ;)

As far as tips, I don't use standard pastels (the kind that look like pieces of chalk). I use the kind that have been made into pencils so they're easier to control and less messy. I also use a folded napkin to blend in the colors and scotch tape to lift color off the paper if I need to, like when I smear something out of lines. Hope that helps. I'm finding that the more I work with them, the more I love them. Easy, fast and perfect for sweet and soft looking pictures.
 
Fantastic! The detailed colour work is absolutely beautiful! The background is very simple, but very intricate! I love your style!

No joke! I have a few ponies I wouldn't mind having nice drawings of! I need more art to go with collection. :lol:
