hehe I am SO excited. I just quit my job I've had for a year, so this was my first free weekend in ages. I went with my parents to the Avon flea market, about a 45 minute drive from where I live. I went down an aisle where I know there is "pony potential", and saw the brown My Pretty Pony - but with majorly frizzy hair, paint markings on it, and overpriced. Also, a bag of G2's from McDonald's with a very pink and patchy Cloud Puff, also overpriced, and easy to pass up since I already have a very nice Cloud Puff. There was also the G2 Pretty Parlor in its box, but that's not something I was interested in. I was feeling bummed...so close, yet so far away. And then my dad came, and motioned that I should follow him. "It's good". Oh boy, what could it be? The aisle he headed toward usually doesn't have many vendors, so my hopes weren't very high. And then...a bunch of My Little Ponies! As well as some Popples and Care Bears. wheeeeeee! I got plush Bowtie, Kingsley the lion, and baby sea pony Surf Rider, all for $2.50! I was so thrilled. There were quite a few other ponies, as well as the Dream Castle...but I had all the other ponies, and I don't collect the buildings. I was veeeeery tempted to get more ponies for trading purposes, including Quarterback, but decided not to. Also there were several Breyers, very very pretty, and some Black Stallion books that I have.
And then it turns out - the guy whose booth it was said that these ponies were his duplicates, and that he sometimes visits the mlptp!! He says he hasn't posted in months, and can't quite remember his screenname, but it has something to do with Big Brother ponies, because they are his favorite set. And then it also turns out that he's from the same town as my boyfriend. (er, ex-boyfriend, but that's another story). It was so neat to meet a "pony person" in real life, lol.
There was also another booth there that had one G1 - Up Up and Away with a haircut, and then several G3's. There was a MOC Kimono, which I was tempted to get - again for trade value, but I didn't. On the way home, we stopped at a large garage sale that had many things I've had in the past - many games, puzzles, and books. It seemed like looking at all my own stuff. I'm kinda shy, so my mom asked the girl if she has any My Little Ponies. The girl said she thought so, and asked her mom. They had to think about it - they're pretty sure there's a bunch of ponies in their attic. I gave them my phone number, and when they're sale is done and packed up, they'll call me. *looks at clock* So hopefully in about an hour or so I'll get the good news - they're going to call either way. *crosses fingers* hehe...so that was my pony joy of a day.
