hehe I am SO excited. I just quit my job I've had for a year, so this was my first free weekend in ages. I went with my parents to the Avon flea market, about a 45 minute drive from where I live. I went down an aisle where I know there is "pony potential", and saw the brown My Pretty Pony - but with majorly frizzy hair, paint markings on it, and overpriced. Also, a bag of G2's from McDonald's with a very pink and patchy Cloud Puff, also overpriced, and easy to pass up since I already have a very nice Cloud Puff. There was also the G2 Pretty Parlor in its box, but that's not something I was interested in. I was feeling bummed...so close, yet so far away. And then my dad came, and motioned that I should follow him. "It's good". Oh boy, what could it be? The aisle he headed toward usually doesn't have many vendors, so my hopes weren't very high. And then...a bunch of My Little Ponies! As well as some Popples and Care Bears. wheeeeeee! I got plush Bowtie, Kingsley the lion, and baby sea pony Surf Rider, all for $2.50! I was so thrilled. There were quite a few other ponies, as well as the Dream Castle...but I had all the other ponies, and I don't collect the buildings. I was veeeeery tempted to get more ponies for trading purposes, including Quarterback, but decided not to. Also there were several Breyers, very very pretty, and some Black Stallion books that I have.

And then it turns out - the guy whose booth it was said that these ponies were his duplicates, and that he sometimes visits the mlptp!! He says he hasn't posted in months, and can't quite remember his screenname, but it has something to do with Big Brother ponies, because they are his favorite set. And then it also turns out that he's from the same town as my boyfriend. (er, ex-boyfriend, but that's another story). It was so neat to meet a "pony person" in real life, lol.

There was also another booth there that had one G1 - Up Up and Away with a haircut, and then several G3's. There was a MOC Kimono, which I was tempted to get - again for trade value, but I didn't. On the way home, we stopped at a large garage sale that had many things I've had in the past - many games, puzzles, and books. It seemed like looking at all my own stuff. I'm kinda shy, so my mom asked the girl if she has any My Little Ponies. The girl said she thought so, and asked her mom. They had to think about it - they're pretty sure there's a bunch of ponies in their attic. I gave them my phone number, and when they're sale is done and packed up, they'll call me. *looks at clock* So hopefully in about an hour or so I'll get the good news - they're going to call either way. *crosses fingers* hehe...so that was my pony joy of a day. :D

Wow!!!
Congrats!!!
I hope you'll get a phonecall with good news soon!!!

Congrats!!! :) Ponies are just what you need! :) (I read your post in friends) That's awesome that you meet another collector from the TP! Definately post when you here from the other people. Hopefully you'll get some more! :)

Do you mean the Avon Fleamarket in Avon NY? I was there today :)

Really, Seirith? Yes that's the one! hehe and YOU were mentioned! I mentioned, "Hey, have you ever been to the Craft Antique Co-Op in Greece?" and he's been there, and been to your booth, too! I wonder if you saw his booth...kinda on the north-west side, at the end of an aisle. But yeah, that's the place I was at!

And yes Ali...hehe, it was definitely good to find ponies today. I always go there hoping to find some, but I don't often have much luck. I keep going though, because you never know - I once went there and there were TONS of ponies, TONS, and I think I pretty much blocked everyone else from that table while I decided which ponies I needed - first one that I saw that made my jaw drop was a MINT condition Munchy - I could not believe I finally found her, and in such beautiful shape. I even got a lot of extra ponies there to boost up the trade box, hehe.

Oh and an update on the garage sale - the woman never called me back. :( Ah well...maybe she'll surprise me and call me some other day. That may have been too much pony excitement for one day, lol!

haha what a small world! I saw the UP Up and Away with the hair cut, but none of the other older ponies. My mother and I only took a fast walk around while we waited for DiVinvi Code to play at Movies 10.

The only thing I ended up buying there was some corn on the cob and a loaf of bread from the people on the outside row!

Hm I wonder what booth he is in the co-op, I probably know him if I knew what booth number is.

What a small world :D

ohh, he doesn't have a booth there at the Co-op - I was referring to his set-up at the flea market - but he's just been to your booth, as have I :p All I know about him is his name is Ken and he's from Hilton.

By the way - have you ever sold ponies at the Avon flea market? Just wondering because there was once a booth a few years ago or more there set up with very similar items to what you have at the Co-op now, and I got the person's e-mail address from her dad, and was in touch with her for a while. It'd be almost eerie if that was you :p

Yeah, Up Up and Away made an appearance at 2 booths, the one you saw, and one at Ken's. You probably missed his, it'd be hard to miss seeing the Dream Castle and everything else. hehe we saw all that corn there, but got yellow plums instead. I bet we'll meet someday. :p

I did use to set up at Avon and sell ponies, that was a few years ago.

I also knew of another person who use to set up there with ponies and other 80's toys and then one day they just stopped setting up and I never saw them again! It was in the middle of the season too.

I probably missed most stuff today, we just did a walk down the middle and then left, we didn't even walk the whole thing. It was so busy there today!

I wonder if we saw each other today and never even knew it!

Congrats on the pony finds! I think the screen name for the guy you bought them from is Big Brother Bufftusk. I think his name is Ken. He used to post on Ponyville about a year or so ago. He also used to post on the Care Bear boards. I hope this is helpful to you. :)

Oh and an update on the garage sale - the woman never called me back. Ah well...maybe she'll surprise me and call me some other day. That may have been too much pony excitement for one day, lol!

Yeah, from my experience, and I've heard this alot, they never call back. I don't get it. If you hate calling people back, don't promise it. I seriously DOUBT every person who I ever gave my number to for ponies didn't have ponies or pony-like stuff. Grrr.

*edit* I take that back... they call if you're Baby Stargaze :nanana:

Congrats on your finds though! it was still a great day!

lol I know... I think "I'll call you" is a good way of saying, "Ok, this is a little weird, go away now" lol. She shouldn't have said "I'll call you either way". Gah! Well, I DO know where she lives. :nanana: hehe I hate calling people back, myself...but if I say I'll do something, I do it. I've heard a lot of people in the area lately say they have ponies, so I'm getting tempted to put a "want to buy" ad in the paper and see what happens.

Thanks for the info, Harmony! That must be him...just has to be. I wonder if he plans to come back around, seeing as he couldn't even remember what name he had. He seems like a very nice guy.

Seirith - We used to go to Avon every few weekends, for YEARS...so chances are pretty good that I have more of your ponies than I realize. :p *snuggles Baby Crumpet* she's my favorite that I've gotten from you. :) I'll have to let you know the next time I plan to go there or the Co-op, hehe

wow, that's awesome that you found a mint Munchy!!! I sure wish I'd have that kind of luck! I can't even find a common around here anymore!

Ohh, awesome!! I hope you get a call!

Mint Munchy? Awesome! I got a really nice one for $2 at a flea market around here. I love finding ponies. Man! You're so lucky. There are a lot of ponies here at the flea market, but most of them aren't in good condition. =/ Hehe.

Congrats on your finds, though! I'm glad you had a good time. :D
