I think it's much more likely that Atlantis was just a made-up place Plato came up with to teach people about hubris than a real, actual place that existed. He did base that particular story on existing places, but none of those were called "Atlantis".
Also, am I the only one who finds it kind of funny how, whenever Atlantis is adapted in fiction, they're almost always the good guys, when in Plato's writings they were enemies of Athens (where Plato hailed from) and looking for total world domination?
That said, my therapist did tell me it was possible I'm a reincarnation of someone from there.
Ehhhhhh, okay... I guess? I still don't believe it existed, but it's sort of fun to pretend it did. Eh, guess I'll take it for its symbolic value, at least.

I saw the title and all I could here was Preston B. Whitmore looking at Milo say "Atlantis is waiting". I like to think it did exist there so little magic and mystery left in the world now a days. If you don't keep some of the old tales alive with a possibly it was real then well history kind losses some of the thrill and just cold facts.
I like mythology a lot and its these things I think that help keep other to get interested in history and find the magic that place like Atlantis and other great wonders brings out and make them want to learn more. It through this the next generation becomes the new history scientist or archeologist and keep the stories going the teach not only myths but facts.
So even if Atlantis was just a myth its story inspires others.
Also personally I think Atlantis might has been a place or maybe a few place where bits and piece of culture history and how it end was messed to make the story of Atlantis. There is always a grain of truth in everything you just have to search for it.

I wanna live in Atlantis! I want to be a merpony under the ocean. Is there a pony Atlantis in FIM? I don't know much about FIM, but I think a pony Atlantis would be cool
I hope there is such a thing as reincarnation. I would like to be a killer whale. Top of the food chain, lots of blubber to keep me warm, and spending all day eating raw fish and roaming the ocean. Or maybe a sperm whale. Then I could see what it's like in super deep waters. Probably not that exciting, but still...

I'd like to go to an Atlantis resort but only of they had an adults only week LOL I don't do kids. I guess I'm a big kid, cause I'd love to do a Disney cruise too but again, all those darn children running around ruin it for me

I went to Atlantis (not the resort) and it was terrible. All my stuff got wet and the entire place was flooded, and they would not give me a refund on the trip or replace my stuff. Not like its my fault it was under water, the brochure did not say it was under water, IT LIED TO ME.

Back OT whether it was real or not its certainly intriguing. I used to have the most beautiful dreams of walking into a quiet Grecian island temple with golden dolphin fountains and blue marble tiles and steps carved into rocks that led out into the ocean to play with a pod of whales.
