If custom dioramas of equestria were made for playsets etc. Would anyone be interested in purchasing them? I have a set design and scenic art degree for theatre and haven't had a chance to use my skills in recent years because of my military career. I'm contemplating making custom dioramas and selling them, but I'm not sure what the market is like. They would be in the same scale as the playsets I can't give an estimate on price yet until I figure out what materials I will need. Right now I just would like to know if there's anything like that out there or if there's even a market for it.

For example I would create Sweet Apple Acres to go with Applejack's Truck and Barn playsets. Or Twilight Sparkle's treehouse. I could even dabble into G1-G3 playsets if there's a market for it. Let me know what you think, or if you have any examples of anyone doing this, I would very much appreciate it!

I'm having a hard time thinking about what craft work would go into a custom diorama.

Would it just be repaints of all the parts? Would you be creating additional accessories/details from a material (such as using wires, metals, sculpt, woodwork, anything...)

I think if you're to redo a playset like that, I imagine a drastic make-over of the entire scene. Like you're changing the entire feel of the original scene, to where it's blatantly noticeable especially to people who have seen the original scene; posting the original with it would cause more of a impact, too. :)

Any rate I'd say go ahead and just do it, I'd love to see what you come up with!

I don't know if this is what you mean- but I would LOVE a sugarcube corner playset- or Twilights tree-house!

It would be cool if you could design a house based on this very well executed papercraft: Sugarcube Corner - My Little Pony Paper Craft

Something like this but more like the Actual sugarcube corner ...
