Anyone here have friends who like mlp irl?

I did, but he didn't drive and and lived across town and would get verbally abusive if I wouldn't chauffer him and his partner around at their whims. I had to walk away from that "friendship" for my own well being, sadly. It was great fun while it lasted though. It was nice knowing I had a fellow enthusiast in town to trade tips and ponies with. So I came here to make more friends, who hopefully won't have unrealistic expectations of me. I hope I'll make many, mature, kind, pony friends here.

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that!! I'm sure there are many people here that will never have unrealistic expectations of you! Me included! Do what makes you happy friend!! :satisfied:

Oh absolutely :) Several dozen are right here on the forum, and lots of us meet up every year for the MD Pony Meet. We also meet up throughout the year and grab a meal or go to events together.

I just had two as guests for this past weekend, after going to a local toy show with a third <3
Oh wow that's awesome!! I really want to go to the MD pony meet one year, that would be amazing because I could meet so many people!! That is so kind of you, wow, total goals LOL :lolpony:

Thank you!:flowerbouquet::happyhearts:I appreciate that, and you very much. You're very kind. I'm so pleased to converse with you all. I needed to be able to keep exchanging restoration and rehair info and this has been an amazingly supportive resource and community.

My cosmic BFF soul sister and I are both hardcore MLP fans and collectors. Back when we were like 16yrs old we found her childhood G1 ponies and coloring books. Pretty sure this is when we both started our journey to become MLP collectors.

Aside from my cosmic BFF, I've only met one person, a coworker, in real life that was a fellow MLP fan/collector.

I do many of them are also here on the forums. I also have a few pony friends left from childhood as well. One of the best ways to keep and make pony friends is to always stay in touch and talk ponies and find other common interests as well. :applejack:

Yes I do! I have three pony friends that are somewhat local to me (one about 25 minutes from where I live, another about 1 hour, and another about 2 hours). We get together several times a year. Not to mention all the friends that I see at Pony Friends Forever in San Antonio. Luckily thanks to that and Pony Fair, I've been able to meet a lot of pony friends that I had known online before meeting them in person. The #1 reason I love pony meets and conventions is because I get to see pony nerds like me, and the #2 reason would probably be the shopping lol.

I SAY I don't... but... my guy friend was telling me today about how he got his daughter a little 40th anniversary pony at the supermarket. He started talking to me about ponies about a year ago. He came up to me at work and was like "So, are Hitch and Sunny related?" And started giving me his G5 theories before I had even watched any of it XD

He keeps lamenting that he wants to watch Ponies and Bluey, but kiddo just wants to watch Peppa Pig! I asked him today, "So, do I need to be your pony friend or something?" And he was like... "Wait, are you not?"

He is a big, beardy, metal head and he was our best man. He is great at baking, his carrot cake cuts through space and time.

Guess I had a pony friend all along :)

Aww that’s a sweet story
Did he know about your love of ponys before that I wonder or did he learn you liked them and be like “oh sweet, someone to talk ponys with!”

He knew I like cartoons, I used to go to animation school. I tend to keep up with what's new, though I am fairly sure we had talked about g4 vaguely in the past.

Oh that’s cool! Do you still do any animating?

I had my mom, she was my pony BFF but she passed in 2016 :( I do have 2 local kcmo pony friends we get together ❤️❤️❤️ and chat but we chat online too.
To those who don't have any pony friends near them ❤️ my heart goes out to you :)

Aww schitt I went to animation school too!
Who else!?!
I know skybreeze animation did too :) I totally wanted to but couldn’t afford it (specifically I wanted to go to CalArt so I could end up being a Disney animator)

I started collecting with my two best friends when we were 13. We are 38 now and all live at least 500 miles from each other, but it's a common interest that reconnects us sometimes! :Seawinkle::Wavebreaker::Whitecap:

My sister-in-law, who is 13 years younger than me, collected G3s at the same time I did which was fun because I’d gift her G1s all the time, too. Plus I happened upon a pony friend here on these forums who lived in the same small town and he was a loan officer at my bank! He actually GIFTED me a gorgeous Mimic :happyhearts:

I used to have a local friend that was but we had a falling out a long time ago. Most of my close friends are supportive of my hobbies but none are really into them. I have online friends I met through pony hobbies but most have different interests now.

i know a local girl who likes ponies too, but we dont like, hang out or anything

Sounds like a lot of us benefit from this forum to share our MLP joy.:ponylove:
