Anyone else pass on buying 're-released' ponies?

I've noticed recently that Hasbro seems to be cranking out many of the dress-up ponies using ponies that have already been released. Like the beach ponies that use a re-issue of Bumblesweet and Cherry Blossom, or many of the ponies in the Wing Wishes or Pretty Pony Fashions are just using older ponies in new poses.

I almost feel like buying them is a waste since I already technically own the pony. I wish they would make new ponies for these things. I know it saves money, but the outfits are cute, but I mainly just collect the actual pony figures. If a pony I really like is released in a new pose that actually looks better with her, then I buy it. But that really is the only time I buy one of the re-issued ponies.

How do you feel about this? Anyone else pass on buying them?

I kind of have mixed feelings about this issue. Lately I have been completely passing on the single re-issued ponies (the ones without new outfits or accessories), and I have been really picky about the ones that do come with outfits. I might buy one right away if I REALLY like the outfit, but so far I have customized or given away the re-issued ponies I already have.

I really wish Hasbro would do one of two things:

1. Make the ponies that come with outfits be UNIQUE, and not a simple reissue of a previous pony or

2. Sell the outfits completely seperate from the ponies themselves, like they did with the G1 line.

But OMG, right now there are only so many Toolaroolas, Sew and Sews, Skywishes, SunnyDazes that I can customize.

I think selling the outfits separately like you mentioned is a very good idea. A pony fashion line would be neat.

Making the ponies that come with clothes unique would be a much better idea. I think I've had all the Pinkie Pies and Cherry Blossoms I can handle.

I consider ponies in different poses to be completely different ponies (ie. Cherry Blossom I and II). This new Skywishes is a bright pink adn matte instead of shiny so I'm going to pick her up. I'll probably pass on Golden Delicious b/c she looks about the same.

I think somone already mentioned this on here but Hasbro probably rereleases ponies so that it is easier for kids to find their favorite characters from the movies and books. Skywishes has been the main character of two of the videos, and Pinkie Pie is in almost every MLP book. I will buy all of the new dress ups and ponies with pets once I find them, because I love the accessories. I think selling outfits and accessories individually is a good idea for collectors, but as a kid, wouldn't you want a pony too? I think it would be easier to get a parent to buy a pony with an outfit rather than an outfit set and then another pony as well. I love Pinkie Pie, so the reissues don't bother me, although I am having a hard time finding the Pie Party set. *shakes fist at Kmart* Does anyone know if this set is a Kmart exclusive? And if you have it for sale, PM me!

I honestly can say I have gotten the rereleased ponies that come with new outfits. I have the Wing Wishes and Seaside ponies, but have passed on the new Moonlight and Birthday packs as well as just the same ponies in different poses. Why on earth do I need just another Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie?

re

I still collect all reissues especially pinkie pie, rainbow dash and minty (i always buy 2 of east set cause one i open for display, lolz).

If they..

If they are in the same pose, then nope. But I might by the seaside celebration one with the monkey, cause I likes monkeys :p

If they are in different poses then I do.

I collect all the poses. But I, too, wish that they would sell the little outfits seperately. *wish wish*

ehhhh, i wish i didnt get the first ones b/c the reissues come with such cool accessories and such, oh well but i buy them anyway

Spooky doesn't believe in wasting money on re-issues when Spooky's behind on new ponies.

I want them to just release the clothes by themselves like they used to! I hate getting reissues even if they are in a different pose.

I missed the original ponies apart from rainbow dash (and that was a fluke of a buy!) so you'd think I'd buy these newbies.. But I don't like them..if I have to buy them for bait/customs then fine, but I want new ponies or some variety in the poses at least!

Do you think they'll make another pony like Star Catcher? She's sooo pretty...

I hate it too and have really cut my buying back. I keep wishing they would sell pony wear like they used to. I have at this point only been buying the pegs that are comming out. We just have too many ponies ( :eeek: I just said that)! I did have to break down and buy Skywishes again for the sake of her birdie pal - having a parrot I just couldn't resist

To many ponies?!?!? Alright now...someone get a rope!!

(LOL!!!! I'm just kidding!)

I buy 'em all :D

I would LOVE it if they sold outfits separately, or at least release them with new ponies. And unique outfits too, not just variations of the same outfit.

But since they don't, and since I'd buy the outfits alone for $6-8 anyway, I might as well get a "display pony" to put them on.

I love the outfits!
