MLPTP EVENT "About A Pony" - simple swap - FEEDBACK TIME!

I contacted customs and they said I need to contact Australia Post head office. I contacted Australia Post and they said I need the tracking number, and if possible, the place it was coming from and the date it was sent. Cheers :)

Alli, since it was sent from another country, there is no tracking number. However, what I can tell you is it was shipped from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and it was shipped on 05-06-2010.

I thought we all had to have a tracking number, it was a requirement?? You can send international with tracking, it's more expensive. Customs and australia post said without this tracking no. they can't do anything cuz can't search for it any way.

I'm sorry to hear the box hasn't yet arrived. I can tell you Canada post is VERY unpredictable. Something I could have driven across the boarder and picked up myself took 3 weeks to arrive. I have also seen an e-bay package arrive within 1 week from Canada- I will never understand the Canadian postal system.

From the swap rules:

Delivery confirmation or receipt of sending is required! This way if something is lost, we're not mad at you, but it will be the post office's fault. For international shipping, as long as you keep proof of postage, you are OK.

At least from here (Canada might be the same) tracking is *at least* $20 extra on shipping.

I'm really sorry it hasn't gotten there yet, but I've heard packages can be held up in Customs for up to 3 months, and Canada does seem to be unreliable

Alli did you ask for a particular package or just if they were holding anything under your name? If you don't ask the 'right' question you get passed on.

I am sure it will turn up. Can I ask, what sort of box was used for the package? Was it a reused one? Did the package have food in it and if so what was the food listed as on the customs form. Was there anything made of wood or plant fibre in there?

Any of those things will cause a package to be held in customs.

When a pacakge I sent international went MIA, a mod at the Arena said they can use the customs number to locate where it is but they usually wont do so unless it was mailed at least 4 months ago. I dont know if this is true or not, as i never bothered to try it, but they scan in the customs forms so they have to have something on file. Im assuming its the same with other postal services as well.

its worth a shot giving them the customs number, maybe something will pop up

Yeah, it's pretty much the same here, unless you are shipping within Canada, and *sometimes* if you ship surface overseas (which I don't recommend because it takes MONTHS to arrive.

On a positive note, most things sent from Canada Post have up to $100 insurance included, so as long as your partner still has the customs form & receipt, she can at least get the value of the package back.

Sorry yours hasn't arrived Alli :( Hopefully it will show up soon.

Hope it shows soon!!

Exciting news - I'm away this week but I've asked my mum to check my post and with my neighbours every day she can... and she just txt me and said my next door neighbour collected a box at my front door today and is minding it safe for me!
