Oh, that would be brilliant! A nice copy of firefly's adventure would be lovely!

Awesome! I like this "classic" stuff. That being said, calling G3 "classic" makes me feel old. And I'm not :p

Would be beyond wonderful if the classic approach did lead to the original movies being re-released and Tales too.

I agree with you for a tales dvd! I would also love to see all the g1 and g3 movies being rereleased.

even tho I'm not a big fan of G3 toons, this is definitely exciting and promising news :satisfied:

I 3rd that notion, I have been watching tales on youtube and its what got me interested in G1. So I would love to see a tales DVD or perhaps a remastered Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack :winkpony:

Sorry, I'm confused. You can get the MLP 'n Friends series on Amazon. Would something be different about this release?

I would like a release of MLP Tales on DVD. It's only ever been released in Europe, right?

I don't know about the rest of Europe, but Portugal, at least, did get the whole series on DVD. The packaging was made to look like G3, as seen here, which is kind of funny when you think about the releases of the G1 series that had G2 ponies on the covers.

I really wish Shout! Factory released these DVDs in Region 0. I LOVE A Very Minty Christmas and would absolutely buy this one.

Am I the only one who finds the G1 series and movie a bit on the lame side?? I watched it as a kid but never really like it too much.

Yes, Tiki! I loved it back when I was 6, but I watched it recently.... and it's just horrible animation, dialogue and well... not very exciting! Some of the songs were good, but the actors really weren't singers!

I loved Tales a lot more. Tales had some good songs, too.

The original MLP show and movie suffered from many things most cartoons in the 80s suffered: it had aspirations of greatness and a lot of good ideas, but none of the know-how or commitment to pull them through.

In comparison, Tales was much more focused, both in terms of characters and the writing - to say nothing of the animation. It helps that it was a much humbler project. It knew its boundaries, and made sure never to overstep them.

I'm a Tales girl myself, too, but I understand what made the original show popular. The truth is at the time, there was nothing on TV quite like MLP, and to be fair, things like good animation and writing (as opposed to just good ideas) only started being an issue when Disney entered the fold with shows like Duck Tales, Gummi Bears and the like. At least that's what I deduced from my research.

I am so hype for A Very Minty Christmas! It's been my annual tradition to watch it!
