Finished my second pegasus pony for my fantasia family! I am trying to find blind bag pegasus that are not in the rearing position (please message me if you want to sell any to me!), so while I wait for those (one's coming in the mail, hooray!) my next project is the mom :) I've already got the pony I am going to use and can't wait to show you guys!

Here's the little pink baby:

Here are the two babies together :) Just need to add some protective coating on the pink one.
Can't wait to get started on the mom.

Oh, and here's a gift for a friend. I took one of those cheap McDonald's collectibles that didn't even have the right cutie mark or hair and customized it for a friend. I used a dremel to get off the plastic nob at the top. My friend can't wait to come and pick her up :) She needs her finishing coat as well, but I couldn't wait to share.

Hope you like them! :smilepony:

Love that recolor on the RD it looks soooo much better

Thank you! I got it from the thrift store in a bag of ponies and was like "you poor miscoloured thing..." lol  My friend Shane, loves RD, so I figured it would make a good gift :)

I suppose I should post the original so people can compare:

She's cute, but her cutie mark isn't even correct :/ Ah well, who can complain about a free collectible!

They're really gorgeous, I love it when people do themed group customs. What colours are you using for the next one? I think the black/white/blue is especially striking.

Rock-on! I love it all! Divine, pony divine!

Hey Neptune!

I'm glad you like the themes too! I can't help myself, plus I grew up on Disney. I plan to do the whole Fantasia unicorn set as well.

From watching the film and double checking with images online, the babies consist of: the black/white/blue foal, a pink, a blue, a yellow, and an orange. I believe those are all the foals :) The mother is white and I'm working on her next, till I can get some more blind bags . The father was a black stallion. Quite the roman-esk stud:

I can't wait to get the whole family done :D

I'm debating on changing the faces of the adults since they are so slender and the ponies I am using for the parents are two Princess Celestia g4s, but I may just keep the G4 look because I like the idea of a mixture between ponies and the image I'm going for, rather than trying to make say, an exact replica of the Fantasia cartoons. I guess we'll find out!

What do you think about changing their faces? Though I may attempt a small clay sculpt on the father for a more masculine muzzle :winkpony: even if I don't go with a full mod of their faces.

I love the way those horses are drawn, they're very Roman just as you said. It will be great to see the whole group together.

I can be -so- hard finding the perfect base for a custom. I'm doing two groups of customs right now based on a novel and on a book set.
In the novel one of the characters I'm doing is female and a sprinter so I needed a dynamic, slender base. It had to be G3 to match the first one in the series, but none of the earth ponies looked right. In the end I decided to cut the wings off Star Catcher II, fill her in with apoxy and use her.

I'm going to do the same thing for the very athletic male character from the book series, only I'll have to make him more masculine.

It's worth the effort of searching really hard or even moderating bodies to get the perfect base. I definitely think you should mod the face to make it more masculine, I'll be doing that for my male pony too. They're just too feminine as they are.

Incidentally, it drives me nuts how several of the core ponies from FiM don't have the same styling as the toy versions. I really like it when people repaint Rainbow Dash.

Hey Neptune!

I know what you mean! It drives me nuts that they get lazy with matching colors and even body types. Most of the blind bag Fluttershys are just Rainbowdash repainted with the wrong cutie mark. Also, I am repainting a Princess Celestia who's Princess Cadence's colors! It's definitely Celestia's crown and cutie mark, but she's pink and with the wrong hair. I guess I can't complain too much because it gives me something to do ;)

I think it's great that you take body type into consideration too! :) I'm planning on doing an Eyore and and Pooh Bear and only the G1 generation body types will do <3

In the mean time, I'm hoping my new blind bag pegasus arrives soon :smilepony:

Wow! That Rainbow Dash looks so much better after her repaint. Great job!

By the way, I wanted to let you know that the non-rearing pegasus ponies you're seeing aren't blind bag Ponies. They're from the Monopoly set and the My Little Pony Busy Book.

My Little Pony (My Busy Books Series) by Phidal Publishing Inc. | 9782764322567 | Other Format | Barnes & Noble

The Busy Book has really dropped in price. I paid maybe $12 US for it. I may well need to grab another copy just for the extra toys!

These are the Monopoly Ponies:

Woah!!!!!!!!!! I knew it!!!! I asked the seller I contacted on ebay and she told my that they were definitely blind bag. I am so glad I didn't buy from that seller. Hm. How close are they in size? I could look into getting them to complete the Fantasia family :smilepony:

Thank you so much for your help and the links! I really appreciate it!

Hooray! Thank you :smilepony: I was worried I'd botch her with the dremell for sure (my first time using it). It's so reassuring to get such positive feedback. Thanks again!

Tomorrow I'll dig the Busy Book ponies out (I don't have the Monopoly set) and take a pic of them compared to the blind bag pegasus so we can get a good idea of size. I think the book ones are a tad smaller, but I'll check it out for you!

Hoorah! Thank you so much! I'd love to see the comparison :D That way I can see if they'll work with my Fantasia family or not <3!

Thank you so much! :bliss:

I'm glad to help!

I thought I'd include Scootaloo; she has hair very similar to Rainbow's but is slightly smaller. She might be an additional pose for you. They're just about the same size as the blind bags, so they looks like they'd be perfect!
