2 Sweetheart sister ponies... What to do?

Hey! never posted here before but been lurking for a bit. Had a pony question pop up and I figured you guys would be the best to answer it.

I collected MLP's as a kid. By "collect" I mean I was one of those children who tore them out of the box, drew on them with ballpoint pen, cut their hair, and otherwise abuse them. I have no idea what happened to most of them (if I ever find them, I'll probably offer them up to you as custom bait), but 2 managed to escape my wrath. After some research, I found out they were Dainty and Flowerburst, from the Sweetheart Sisters line.

Now, I have NO idea how rare these ponies are, or what they would be worth if they were in good condition, which they really aren't. They're not damaged, but they're dirty and smudged and their hair needs washing & detangling, so with some love they could be display worthy. But they don't have their boxes or brushes or hair ribbons. Earrings are still in tact though.

(I'm sure the hard-core ones here will know who I'm talking about, but for those like me who may not know every pony by name, the ones I'm refering to are the pink & blue ones up top)

I like them, and in all honestly I've been wanting to give customizing a try and would love to do it on these 2 because I love the look of the slender ponies. However, I don't want to do that to potentially valuable ponies that a collector would want and end up getting hanged for it!

So I guess what I'm asking is what the status of these 2 particular ponies are, if customizing them is out of the question or not, or if I'm better off cleaning them up & putting them up on eBay or even up for sale here, without their accessories & box.

Thanks! Your input is very much appreciated. :D[/img]

They're not rare but if they're fixable i would not customize them

No matter what pony you have got, common or not someone will always hem and haw about whether it's ethicly right or wrong to customize a pony that's out of production. I personally think it's fine to. If it's something you wish to make for yourself, and your pony, you're entitled to do what you want with it.

That's my opinion honestly... but I know that some ponies are probably rare enough that I would catch flack for customizing it (one tutorial comes to mind where someone customized a Minty). I don't know anything about pony collecting or which ponies are more or less desirable, and the last thing I want to do is take a pony that a lot of people NEED NEED NEED and customize it. OOP stuff like you said it's hard to avoid, but I figured I'd at least check. :)

And thanks for the heads up on the into thingie! Post made :)

I probably wouldn't customize them :) You can definatly trade them for some custom bait in those poses though if you'd like or even trade them for a different pose :D Customizing is alot of fun and you are sure to like it :D ALso if you end up selling them you can definatly use the money to buy some baits since baits tend to be very cheap haha :D

Hey there! I just sold a nice condition Dainty for $6.00 and that's about the price I have normally sold the sweetheart sisters.

I agree with a few others that maybe you could sell these to someone who needs them (especially if they will clean up nicely) and buy a couple of really manky ones to use for customs. Or hold off and do some practice ones before using the sisters.

Hope that helps! Welcome to the TP!

Hey and welcome! :)

Well, I've been trying to get my hands on a Flowerburst for sometime now(she's one of my grails). And if I had her, I wouldn't customize her. :p But that's just me, though.

As for Dainty, well, I do have her myself, and also think she's pretty. But I wouldn't customize her, either. See, if I have an extra of a pony, I'd either try and sell her/him or customize. But if I only had one of that pony, I wouldn't customize. Unless it was in bad shape (i.e. tail's missing, bad haircut, something like that). But then again, that's just me. They're your ponies, so I say you do whatever feels right. If you want to customize them, or clean them up and sell them, or just keep them as is, that's totally up to you. :)

Do you want her if she cleans up well? Thats the entire point of my making this post; I don't know what people want, and I wanted to see if people out there really want them that badly. I am totally up for selling or trading if you don't mind her being out of box.

Well, as I am only 17(and still living at home). I dunno if I can buy any ponies at this time. :? But good luck with whatever you choose to do with them! ^^

i'd love both of them! heh i wouldnt customize them, i really dont understand the point of taking ponies that are actually in good conditiona nd customising them because someone feels like it- trade her them for liek 2 or 3 baits! each, maybe

Thats what I think I'll do actually. I'll just try to keep my eyes open for slender-bodied ponies that are more bait-worthy. :) Thanks guys!

Well, if you want to trade them, perhaps we can make a trade! I have a couple Generation 2 ponies for sale/trade. If you're interested then PM me. ^^

And yes, the generation 2 ponies are slender. :p So perhaps they'd work for your customs?
