Again, my digital isn't working so I cant put up pics but I got a late Christmas box from my friend in California today. Now, she doesn't collect or really know a thing about ponies. So needless to say I never expect ponies from her. Occasionaly if she asks I will point her in the right direction, or show her an auction on e-bay when she wants to see what one looks like but that's it.

Well there was a christmas/cookie tin in there with a ton of tape. After 10 minutes of frustration I finally got a knife and cut the tape.


Much to my absolute shock there was a pony. Not just ANY pony, but a Pearly baby firefly, still MINT IN HER PACKAGE with ribbon and everything. I nearly had a HEART ATTACK!

I am going to open her eventually, I haven't yet but she is ADORABLE, completley mint! It was just such a SHOCK coming from a friend who knows little to nothign about ponies!
 
holy crap, that's awesome! Though I doubt she would have bought it, most non-collectors are appalled at how much some of our ponies go, especially MIP, lol.



but jeez, that's so great!
 
Awesome! Isn't it great to get something like that--especially from someone so unexpected? A friend of my mine recently gave me a Breyer horse, which shocked me because I only recall mentioning my old collection once to him.
 
ABC, She may have bought her I'm not sure she is really one of those people that goes WAY out of her way for her friends....but it was a shock!

krk, that's awesome that he did that! Those types of gifts are always best I think!

lol I just got my first Pearly and was like "Eee..." Pony cataracts XD
 
Kar, yes she does have the paint over her eyes! I opened her and was all "WHOAH!" I wasn't expecting that but your so right it is a spooky expression and I like it. It sets her apart on my shelf.

Yes, late christmas box in March. Go figure. :roll: Jamie and I don't EVER get boxes out on time, I sent hers first so the real clencher was when she sent mine she RE-USED the box I had sent hers in! She said it was the only thing big enough! :lol:

Teiris, your right, it sort of is like pony cataracts. LOL!
 
How utterly awesome! :D That's funny she used the same box. :lol:

My cousin and I used to write back and forth, but we were always taking forever, so we started sending 'books'. I'd sit in class and write a bit. Then later, I'd write some more. Over several days or sometimes weeks we'd do this. Then when we thought it was 'fat' enough, we'd send it off. :lol: It was really fun getting one of those in the mail. ^-^
 
Ajcoecoe, I know isn't that silly? I got the box and was all "Um, this looks famillar." She works at UPS so she got away with just marking through her adress and leaving mine in the corner and printing a label as well. It was so funny. Your book idea is so cute! I bet it was great getting those in the mail. It reminds me of the "Gift war" me and Jamie {the one who just sent the pony} have. We start like in Feb, and amass piles and piles of gifts. Usually amassing all year till Christmas, sometime amassing enough for a mid-year box in June and having enough left over for Christmas!LOL!


Awwwww, do you not have an G1's Morning Glory? I like your icon alot!
