If you are familiar with Dream Valley or MLPCollector.com, you are probably familiar with the system of years used to sort the G1 pony sets chronologically.

If not, here's the Dream Valley page that gives a convenient run-down of which sets came out during which release year: Dream Valley listing

(I'm not sure how international ponies fit into this system. Any insight?)

So finally to my question, lol. Which "year" is your favorite year? If you respond, please commit by choosing only one year.

My favorite year is easily Year 4. So-Soft, Twinkle Eyeds, the MLP Movie and all the characters that went with it.. Huzzah. :) If I could collect ponies from only one year, this would be the one. These were the ponies released during the time when I was most into MLP as a kid, and I imagine that's one reason I feel such an affection for these sets.

You?

Meh, this is hard. Umm... Well my two favorite US sets of all time are definently the Adult Tropical Ponies and the Baby Sparkle Ponies, which are both from year 8 according to Dream Valley. However, those are the only two sets from that year that I like. I like a lot of ponies from the later years as well. Alright, I guess I am going with year 8...

I would have to agree with year four. while i do like the TE's from the following set a little more because thoes were the ones i had as a kid I really always wanted a fizzy, and windwhistler is my childohood SS :)

I'm going to go with year 8 too-My faves are the tropical ponies and the rainbow curls. My other favorites are the first TEs, Gingerbread was my favorite childhood pony!

Year 2 is my favorite. I love early ponies.

Year 2 for sentimental reasons, I guess. I only had years 2-4 as a child, mostly year 2. But 4 runs a close second.

And if it's not for sentimental reasons, there are a lot of ponies from year 5 that I really love, too. :)
