Hi there i know this is prob a freaquent asked question but what is the difference? im ordering some more hair and i just wondered.

Also does anyone know what hair colours make up the twinke eyed lockets hair?

I find nylon hair is easier to work with, it's softer than saran and falls nicer. I believe nylon is easier to curl too, but maybe that's just me. Saran just sticks up when rehairing, and will only calm down after having boiling water poured over it. I prefer to use saran for my dolls though, because it seems thicker.

Sorry I can't help with Lockets hair colours!

Saran is finer and usually seems duller than nylon. It does not curl easily and usually lies fairly flat. It's more natural feeling than nylon but is more fragile.

I like both kinds of hair. Nylon is more like "actual" pony hair. Saran is like cornsilk: super soft and fine and lays kind of limp, but I think it's pretty. In my experience, though, saran white is NOT white, it's more cream-colored and I don't like it.

I need to know Locket's colors too; I have a Baby North Star who wants to be a Baby Locket!

As far as Locket's colors.. I have mine here and I must say.. her colors are really hard to figure out. I would say the white is equivalent (on Dollyhair) to White Witch, then the pink is either Pussycat or Tearose, the coral would be Peaches and Cream (just had an experience with that color lately >.>), and then the purple would be Wisteria. That is the order the colors go in as well in her mane. If anyone else could get closer, then by all means please post.. but those are the colors I guessed.

well i just started using saran hair and i love it. not as much as nylon though. with nylon it's more made from poly fibers i think, but it also seperated into bigger strands perfect for rerooting while my saran needs like 3 of thre thin strands it seperates into for a single mlp plug but that's ok. but thesaran also seems to blend together better than the nylon. and yes it's a whole lot matter than rthe nylon in hue but you can put the two together and it's fine. i don't generally style my ponys' hair so i can't discern how hard it is to curl or what not ^^; and it does "break" easier than nylon but it's not that noticable.

:reaper: Kat :reaper:

If you go the nylon route White Witch, Tea Rose, Dusty Rose, and Wisteria are your best bets for a color match =)

Personally I adore saran hair and would use it more often if it came in more colors.
No, it doesn't curl well at all but if you're going for the sleek, straight look saran is perfect. I find it just as easy to work with as nylon and IMO the colors have a lot of depth and shine.
I rehaired all of these customs using saran with no styling required. Notice how nice it lays with no effort what-so-ever?

These are absolutely stunning, you are quite the artist and extremely talented! I'm now sold on Saran hair!

Old thread is old but I constantly use nylon and Saran hair together all the time from all hair merchants

The Saran (no autocorrect I did not say Satan!) is stiffer and I have to flatten it with hair dryer and tug at it to settle into place.

I'm thinking about utilizing boiling water like mentioned above, on this custom pictured here that I just rooted hair in and am about to craft accessories on

The neon pink and chartreuse colors are the Saran, oranges and green are nylon, purple is Halloween wig hair, blue is nylon.
