Want to design some personas for friends

But I'm not sure what sort of questions to ask. Can anyone suggest the usual sort of questions asked when people are making patchworks (is that the right word?), or personas for friends (who don't all know much about ponies, so questions like "TAF or Merry-Go-Round?" won't be much help )

the question i generally ask

1st favorite color -- for body
2nd, 3rd, 4th favorite colors--for the hair and eyes (pending how fancy you want to get can also use colors for fading hoofs and nose)

posible symbol questions--
favorite animal
favorite candy
hobby
what is their job (if they actually like their job)
movie, tv show, cartoon, actor/actress

you can ask for favorite breed and gender too.

I'd have them look at actual ponies and see if something like twinkle eyes or pretty patterns tickles their fancy. But you know them. You know what amuses them or what phrases and things they like. Go from that.
