MLPTP EVENT There's a Spider in the Drain and He's Feeling Pain - Practice Shot Discussion

I didn't realise this hunt was running yet, so hopefully my next attempt will be better, I literally threw it together with virtually nothing to make a spiderweb with!! Or a spider..... and my photo was porbably late, but I don't get how the time difference works....

:fishslap:

I hate my picture. I had a headache, and i didn't know what i was doing, but i tried. lol

I was so happy to find a real spider web! ...but it's so tiny I didn't want to destroy it, so Gusty365 gave me the idea to use ponyville ponies :lol: Thanks darling!

I feel like such a newb but I'm having fun!! :p I don't have any fake webs or spiders, so I had to use the real thing outside. *shudders*

I'm glad it's over!!

*runs to shower*

Alatariel- I was going to ask if it was real, eww!! *shudders*

Last minute Annie here so the lighting is horrible in mine, you can't really see baby Sundance all wrapped up. (my cat was trying to figure out what the heck I was doing, lol)

It was 11:58pm EST when I finally got the pics off the camera and onto the computer so I just tossed it up on the "attachments" thing (at, like, 12:03 a.m. or so BZZZT DQ'd!). Obviously we don't want to do either of those things for the "real" thing. I also wanted to use a real spider web (know just the one! It's been there all summer... I'm sure anyone who knocks on our door is horrified, but I refuse to evict the resident arachnid) with a few dollymixes, but time just got away today. So... there it is, our fancy shmancy spider web-lights instead. NOT the same!!! :pumpk1:

I'm lovin' all the other spideys, though!!

Wonder what's our first real assignment...

these are all hilariously great!! totally had no clue what this is about so glad to have stumbled into this thread :) will be fun to see and share

can't wait to see how the "real" hunt evolves = have fun everyone!

LOL, same with mine for the first 10 minutes, then it was more a case of me trying to keep them away from the doorway I made the web in.

Poor cats were like "EEEE! OMG OMG STRING!" (I tell you, my thighs aren't a pretty sight since they repeatedly kept trying to crawl up me to get to the dangly yarn bits, haha).
Eventually one of the heavier ponies took a dive and brought half the net down and behold; watch them tigers attack; One went for the pony straight away (she loves that nylon hair) while 3 others grouped together to proudly pull the newly killed net away... and there I was trying to keep the remaining web up with one hand, salvage the part of it that was about to get abducted with the other hand while trying to rescue the pony with a foot - somehow I think that shot would have been a lot better, than my entered one..

Cats, gotta love them! <33

I love the spider in your photo!!! It's actually cute, yet terrifying at the same time!

HEEEEEEhehehehe, I would love to have seen that!! :eek:verlord:yeah, maybe we need an outtakes thread. HEH

Wow you guys, I loved these shots, even though they were just a practice.

I especially liked seeing some REAL spiderwebs. That was very interesting, and I was secretly hoping someone would try that. Lord knows I have enough cobwebs hanging around here to try it. Mwhaha!

The mods and I are deliberating over the scores... will be posted as soon as I can. I'll be checking in with them regularly since this is the first time I've scored, and also so that it's not biased by just me scoring. Hope you don't mind!

Don't worry, Applejack, it was just a practice round so you guys could see how we plan to score. It doesn't count towards the winning total.

I do like to see what people come up with- you guys have some pretty creative webs there!

~~~
ETA: Practice Shot Scores have been updated- look in the original Practice Shot thread to see them (at the top).
