I was psyched beyond belief to finally get a new pony today: Glimmer Wings Daisy Dreams! I don't really collect the non-cartoon ponies (too many toys--not enough space!), but I feel like it's been forever since I got anything new.

The complete review with lots of photos of Glimmer Wings Daisy Dreams is over on my blog, which you can click right here for.

The Right:

In general, I think Glimmer Wings Daisy Dreams is well-executed all-around for an expanded universe pony. I'm very pleased that Hasbro decided to give U.S. fans a shot at (a version of) Daisy Dreams, and though she shares the same wings as Rarity, the darker color scheme chosen for Daisy Dreams' wings works a lot better and makes the glitter show up more.

Daisy Dreams' colors remind me of one of my all-time favorites, Baby Lickety Split, which makes me pretty happy. I really like the mixture of hues of pink used in Daisy Dreams' hair, though--it complements her skin and wing colors beautifully.

The wings on Glimmer Wings Daisy Dreams feel quite sturdy to me, and I'm not concerned at all about breakage.

The Wrong:

I don't really like that Daisy Dreams is already reusing the same butterfly as Rarity came with, and it looks almost exactly the same. I think Hasbro could have made it look a lot cooler and more distinct.

Also, I wish Hasbro gave some explanation for why this Earth pony suddenly has magical wings. Is it a dream? A magic spell? A curse? I don't know, and Hasbro isn't telling!

GRADE: B

As I mentioned, I'm not keeping all my non-show ponies, so I'm giving Daisy Dreams away! Make sure to enter the contest from the review page to enter!
