I have a bizarre Cotton Candy that has "Funskool" written on her hood instead of Hasbro. She also has "Made In" and "India" written on her back hooves. Besides that, she looks exactly like a real Hasbro Cotton Candy.

I seem to recall something from a while back about the Funskool ponies being worth a decent amount, so I was wondering how much this pony would be worth if I were to sell her? She is in very good condition. Thanks! :)

*EDIT* I just thought to do a search (duh), and came up with this thread:

Is she really worth that much? If so, would you recommend selling her now, or hanging onto her?

*EDIT #2* Pics on page 2!

Yep, she's definitely worth that much. Indian ponies are really rare.

I rarely recommend selling due to price. Don't sell her if you'll think you'll regret it later. No matter how much $ you get. I've regretted selling a few things out of my collection.

I did sell a funskool pony YEARS ago. an Aussie collector bought mine. She only went for $100, but was in horrid shape. and I still don't regret it now.

*shrugs* she was pretty in her own way. but a pony in that bad condition kind of ruins the enjoyment for me, so all the better she went somewhere she could be appreciated.

$200-300 sounds on the low side for them. We had a few sold in the Nirvana forum, and I think they went more in the $400-600 region. They are extremely rare, so big congrats on managing to acquire one! :)

As to whether or not to sell, it depends how much you want to keep her. If you're not bothered about her at all, then selling would be fine, but if you want to keep her and might regret it, I'd hang onto her for a bit. If you change your mind she would be really hard to replace.

You can see pics of all of them in the Nirvana Gallery :) I wish I had one!

Those are some lovely pics LadyGuinevere.

good luck finding one for yourself. I hope you find one the way I did. buried in a 99cent thrift shop bag. (hidden in an inexpensive lot is always good too)

Wow, I never knew until recently that I had such a rare pony! Good thing I noticed her hooves, otherwise I might have gotten rid of her thinking she was just another CC!

I don't remember exactly where I found her, but I know it was second hand- most likely Value Village. To me, she is just another Cotton Candy; it's really cool that she is different, but I know another collector would appreciate her way more than I would so I think I will definitly sell her.

I've never sold a rare pony before, what would you recommend? Ebay, or privatly? :)

*will take some pictures in a little bit and post them here*

I'd try selling her on the boards first so you don't have to pay eBay fees. You can set up an auction in the classifieds here really easily.

I would LOVE to have a India Cotton Candy, but alas... she is one I will probably never be able to own. If I were you I'd keep her, she'd be an awesome addition to your collection :)

Wow, that's a really nice pony!! I especially like Minty, she's so pretty! Congrats on having such a rare pony, that's awesome! :D

I do think it is awesome that she is so rare, but honestly if I were to keep her in my collection I wouldn't pay much attention to her and she would just sit there ignored. I know there are lots of other collectors out there that would love her much more than I, especially by seeing the responses in this thread :)

:D I can't wait for pictures.

I would have kept the minty I found, had she been in nice condition. (she had a really cool hairline). But like you, mine was ignored.

Comparison next to my regular CC - Funskool pony on right

Head on view

You can see in the head on view that she has a slight yellow mark on her face, but it is fairly hard to see in regular indoor lighting- I actually didn't notice until I took the photos.

She also has three weird yellow marks on her symbol paint on her right side, if you look at them up close they have tiny blue dots, as if it were from a printer o_O very strange.

She has no major marks on her body, but she does have those pinprick sized dots on her in various spots on her body, although they're not too bad. When I sell her, I will take some scans of her in my scanner so it is easier to see. Her tail seems uncut, and her mane as well for the most part although she does seem to have an unusual forlock that is a bit larger than usual.
