Okay, I have this idea for a MLP art/story contest for Halloween.

Scenario one:
People would be able to partner up with others to create a mlp character(s) with a story behind it. The story will have to be halloween themed (not necesarily taking place during halloween but involve elements from it ... you know scary/mysterious stuff). The story will only be allowed to be a certain number of chapters ... let's say four or five. Every round, they must post both a chapter and an illustration to go with it. Then people vote on which story they want to continue, the one with the lowest votes doesn't go on to the next round, and so on ...

Scenario two:

The same as the previous but all stories are allowed to continue until the end. Then people can vote which story they like best, which had the best twist ending, better character development, etc. However, you are required to finish your chapters by each deadline, or your disqualified.

Prizes: Well since I'm thinking of allowing teams (maybe of 3 members maximum?)I really can't do a lot like physical prize, but this is what I have available at the moment:

Illustration of the main characters of the story. I would send you high resolution prints.

Super sculpey versions of the main characters.

What do you guys think?

I love it!! Although I think a limit on the number of chapters would be great.
 
Well, I can write... ^__^''' I just can't really do art very well... But I guess I can give it a shot. I've never really wrote pony-like stories, though. But I guess I can try.
 
I meant to reply to this on LJ but I love this idea! I'd so be in. And I too like the limit on chapters, or maybe even do a word limit?
 
Ohh, I've been meaning to write a Halloween story about some ponies sometime, I'd be interested in entering!! I think Option 2 is a better one, that way people can get the stories complete, and not cut off mid-story! Would we have to invent the characters, or can it be pony-versions of already-created characters?? (IE Spooky/Experiment 300, a Lilo & Stitch character, ponified) Sounds groovy! :D

I like the team idea, for some reason, I can never finish stories, I always get stumped near the end... I've only got like, 2-5 stories I've ever finished... o_O

A character limit is good, I've already got a series of pony-stories up with only 5 characters, as is a chapter limit, but a word limit is a bad thing, we must be able to use as many words as possible!! Perhaps a pages per chapter limit, so that one chapter isn't 100 pages??
 
Just bumping, 'cause...um... It's allowed, right? Yeah. Um... I WANNA WRITE! *pout*

I also want an excuse to be all cutesy and adorable and write about ponies... ^__^'

...and get to write scary stuff WITH ponies! Bwhahahahahaa!
 
I'm putting together a website and figuring out the rules, that's why I haven't updated this. :)
