New to collecting My Little Pony

Hello! I am a new collector. I had My Little Pony as a little girl (G1) and loved them, and I have just started my journey as an adult collector. I have started off with the 40th anniversary ones, and a few used ones in good condition that I just had to have! I am collecting only the G1 style ponies, as I am mostly enjoying them from a nostalgic perspective, so I don't plan on having a huge collection (I know, don't we all say that stuff when we first start out!)

I came here to make new friends and make sure I take care of my ponies properly, as well as get info on how to fix issues or restore them, if necessary. I did notice that one of the ones I just got has the "pink highlighter" spots on one foot, and wondered if perhaps she should be quarantined from the rest of my collection? If anyone has the answer, please let me know!

I collect a lot of different things (other dolls, Harry Potter, horror collectibles, music) and I want to make sure that I know everything MLP so I can keep my collection safe and in good "health". I look forward to meeting other collectors and having lots of fun while I learn all about everything MLP!

Thank you very much! I vividly remember that I loved Bowtie and Snuzzle as a kid (both of which I was able to get in the re-released versions, so I'm very happy about that)! I also love Fizzy and Lickety-Split, and I was able to grab those on Amazon :happyhearts:

Nice! I never had any of those four as a kid. My firsts were Blossom and Seashell. Who else are you on the watch for?

Welcome pony friend! I also collect G1 ponies! My favorite is Firefly. My childhood collection got brought back out during the pandemic and has grown a lot since then. This forum is amazing and you will love it here.

Thanks, Teddy! I am so new right now that I am not sure how to answer that yet. I'm just learning how much they've changed over the years, since I only remember the G1 ponies I had as a kid. I'm afraid (for my bank account! lol) that I'm going to fall in love with all of them.

Welcome! This is a great community and such a fun hobby! It's easy to get sucked into the world of collecting, then all of a sudden you are restoring, then you have a great idea for a custom pony, and everyone here is so supportive and JEEZ I just love it and I'm glad you're here! :fizzy:
