Hi everypony!
Let me begin by introducing myself: I’m MosesMooPie;I’ve been a longtime collector of My Little Pony (G1). I have been collecting sporadically over the last 18 years, but have since experienced a resurging interest in adding more ponies to my herd.

Seawinkle is who I ought to give credit to my wanting to further my collection in my adult years, as she was my very first pony (she was a gift from my Mom on my 7th birthday.) Shortly thereafter,I received Medley and Parasol, along with the Original “Big Six”, as gifts. I still have these gals-they prefer hanging out on my bookshelves,as they happen to be avid readers

As an aside, I’ve recently begun trying my hand at rerooting/rehairing, because some of these gals’ hairdos have seen better days. So far,I’ve been successful at giving four of my gals some well deserved brand new hairdos-LOL! Fingers crossed that I might be able to give some of my other ladies new hairdos also... and...I have about seven others who are waiting in line patiently for new hairstyles

Welcome!! Rehairing is so satisfying, it's a wonderful way to refresh a pony. Hope you enjoy your time here!

Thank you both for the warm welcome, and I’m delighted to be here!

Absolutely I would love to share with you my rehairing examples.

Stand by:

Welcome! I have also recently found a love of rehairing. It used to really frustrate me when I was younger, but the older I get, the more I enjoy tedious repetitive tasks! And the payoff is so nice. Looking forward to seeing your photos! :lolpony:

*Apologies for the double post-if they need to be combined for the sake of conserving bandwidth,Admins please combine.

Seawinkle needs new eyes-I’m currently researching on best method in approaching this endeavor,e.g. most suitable paint and resealer.
• Any tips/advice, I would be grateful-I have never done any pony repainting.
As she is permanent to my collection, I’m thinking of going in a more realistic approach, in the way of giving her a realistic equine eye. Her shell is not original to her. During the ensuing decades,it is lost to obscurity forever LOL.

Applejack came to me with no tail, and an extremely short mane. I thought she’d look sensational with chestnut colored hair.

My little yellow guy was a second hand shop find, whose hair was in deplorable condition, hence the new hair do.

Un-named Big Brother is an HQG1,who originally came to me with bright orange hair. He holds a special place in my heart. I chose this particular hair because it best matches my main man IRL. He and I have been together going on seven years now; he’s my heart partner. He’s in the last image... he just turned 11 this year.

Hi to both! Thank you,and I already feel quite welcome; moreover, the warm hospitality here is refreshing!

@ Lakadaisy: Same! The first rehairing endeavor that I undertook was months ago... and, well, let’s just say that I might have been overly ambitious in thinking that I could rehair a mane within 8 hours total, start to finish. Time allotment for set-up process took (gasp!) 2.5 hours...separating and knotting the hair plugs. Phew! I did the knitting/sewing procedure.

I just recently (my little yellow guy) began using the rerooting method via reroot tool. Much quicker! Upon finishing,I added a small bead of glue on the internal roots.

Thank you! Spa day with the ponies is fun,and it is relaxing. It can be meditative on some levels.
...I feel an “industrious spa day” in its happening stages... and of course, the “post spa day” photoshoot, of which shall be uploaded here :)

Someday, one day, I would love to do a full on custom!

Applejack does look nice with that color hair! Well done! Your horse is a beauty! What's his name, if you don't mind sharing? :)

Welcome pony friend! It's so fun to see others re-hair projects. I have only done 3 but loved it. Waiting on time to do some other projects myself. Moses is adorable.

Hello! I love your reroots, they look amazing! It's something I have yet to try and I'm glad to hear it only takes a few hours compared to many hours. Welcome to the MLPTP!!

They’re so shiny and luxurious! Love them!
Thank you! The hair used in ponies reroots is Saran, with the exception of my little yellow guy, whose hair is of nylon.

Thank you! He is a handsome fella ❤️ He’s my inspiration behind the color choices for some of my rehairing projects.

Hi there! And thank you-am delighted to be a part of this board-you all have a terrific community on here.

IMO, rerooting/rehairing is a three-fold enjoyment because of the anticipation of waiting to see the completion of a process; additionally,it’s a nice way of “active meditation”. Lastly, it is fun to pick out hair colors and put together color schemes.

Hello!

Welcome in! I hope you enjoy your stay!
